Yes, I heard that this morning - some of those arrested are in Essex. I'd love to know where! Who knew that you could pay 300 quid a month for a course showing you ways to rob people blind!

When my late son graduated at Birmingham uni I was shocked at the ratio of women V men, the men were noticeably very few, why haven't they addressed this ratio?
[Gender. Women are much more likely to go to university than men and have been for many years. They are also more likely to complete their studies and gain a first or upper second-class degree. However, after graduation, men are more likely to be in 'highly skilled' employment or further study just after graduation.]

The Jill Dando killer? This is a remarkable image of this suspect.

However, there is a more ugly side to the ascendency of us girls which seems to brand all men as predatory and aggressive. Did you see the Danny Dyer programme How to be a man about so-called 'toxic masculinity' ? I watched the first one. It just seemed to me that this term has created a perception among many men, particularly young men, that just being male is something negative with insecurity and unhappiness as a result with much mental illness and suicide. There's decent men, just as there are decent women but to view all men negatively with suspicion - just because they're men - is simply a prejudice.

Overwhelmingly most men are perfectly decent and I feel strongly that boys should be taught this and that it is good to be that way.
I also think we should be tolerant of young boys and young men being a bit laddish and probably laughing and joking a bit incorrectly. Just teach them about the best place to do that. Like not at work.

Like not at work. It takes two parts to make every human being, that should also be the same with our schools, no men = no role models. I never had a female teacher during my 10 years at school. [In England data from the Department for Education, published in June 2023, shows there are 468,371 teachers, of which 83 per cent (388,929) are female. 221,300 teachers work in nurseries and primary schools. 216,000 in secondary schools.18 Jan 2024] Goodbye Mr Chips, To serve them all our days, Please Sir and Porterhouse blue, where are they all at now?
