We're still in the grip of weather alerts here. The sun is dazzling but amazingly it still isn't thawing. It was minus 5c early on and is still only minus 2c at lunch time. It's the same here Ron. I can't walk on the snow and ice, so I took Leo into the front garden and let him have a run around. He studiously avoided the snow and ran round the edge of the garden where it's thin ice. More proof dogs are brainy.

Yes Althea, they're not silly are they. My mate tells me his dog goes to the door ready for his morning walkies, sees the snow and heads back indoors. To some puppies of course have never seen snow before so it's an adventure to them.

Again just a slight frost here which soon disappeared even under a cloudy sky. We are promised some sunshine this afternoon and it is starting to brighten up even now.

My husband's family had a farm when he was growing up and even in wartime they had plenty of meat. He was a big meat eater, but always healthy and active. When he hit his seventies he had a couple of slight problems and went on Warfarin, but was otherwise still fit as a butcher's dog. I did manage to get him onto Fruit and Fibre covered with fresh grapes for his breakfast for the last ten years. I think it did him good. Though his body was fine, he had vascular Dementia for about five years, which ultimately caused his demise. For a time I did wonder if all the meat he ate had been bad for him, but his father and two brothers all died of vascular dementia, so I put it down to his genes. He lived to 88. He never ate fast food of any kind, no burgers etc. My next door neighbour has never been ill in his life until now and he is 88. We all have to die of something. You speak the truth there Althea.. Colin RIP x

Yes, Joe Jackson did a number "Everything gives you cancer" which always made me smile. Your Mum so reminds me of mine Hildie. She had several pensions and her income was far higher than mine but she moaned all the time about paying tax 😁 to which I always said "You should get so much then.." Black looks... I got talking to a woman (about my age) in Boots yesterday. She was looking at the Black Friday prices of Lady Millions by Paco Rabanne and I asked her if it was her favourite....she replied "Good Lord no. It's for me mum.. she's 96 - still goes to pilates every week, wears makeup - she loves this (nearly 100 quids worth) She might even be on here...🤔 Talking about perfume. I love it. I went Christmas shopping on Saturday and had a good wander through Fenwick's Food Hall - divine and bought a few things. You come out into the perfume dept. I wasn't buying anyone perfume it's too expensive at this time of year. I wait until they need to sell it after Valentine's, Mother's Day and Easter when they have deals. Then I put it away for Christmas presents. But lo and behold I found myself at the Guerlain counter and randomly splurged on a bottle of Shalimar for ME, for my birthday. Yay!! My children usually get me nice things but I decided my sisters can have smaller presents and I was having Shalimar, then I bought myself a lovely jumper in John Lewis. I did buy some lovely wide leg trousers in M&S, but on reflection I think I'm too short for a really wide leg. I can alter them easily enough but I think I'll take them back. Shame really because I like a pair of brown trousers but ultimately they made me look as if I am shorter and wider than I am. But still Shalimar, I'm so happy!
