Thanks Honeybear. Sorry I'm too late to wish you good morning, but my youngest daughter phoned me just as I sat at my comp. She was on for nearly an hour. So,it's good afternoon from me.It's not actually snowing yet today. Perhaps we have had our portion by now. We have had snow every day since Tuesday. We are still snowed in. I'm not complaining though.

Thank you
I hate barging in where strangers are unwelcome
So far today I have prepped dinner (pork medallions in a mushroom cream sauce) ventured through the melting snow to buy cream painted my nails metallic gold gel and started knitting a cardigan front
What have others been up to?

Today ,my youngest daughter and her family came to visit. She will be away next weekend,so we've had one Mother's Day today and I'll have another one next week with my other children. My delightful little grandchildren (aged 8 and 5) are so full of life.I feel really old when I see them and after they went ,I had to sit quietly on my recliner for a while. My other grandchildren are all grown up thank goodness. I just don't have the energy for more than those two. We did have a lovely day,(did I spoil them? Of course I did.) Grandma's perks.

There's no such thing as "barging in" in this forum. We all post as and when. You will never be intruding, there are no private threads. Just post when and where you want to, you'll always be welcome. I am going to have my nails redone tomorrow. Well done you for doing your own.I have never had gold nails,so that has given me something to think about for the future.

What a lovely day with grandchildren
I know what you mean about young children and energy - I am worn out after seeing my friend's 3 aged 11 8 and 4
They have suuch energy they have me in a heap after half an hour!
But I have adopted them as neice and nephews as I adore them
The gold gel polish is great - I have at long last got nails after a lifetime of short broken nails with whitlows and bleeding where they broke so short they bled
I love the new to me gel polishes as they do not chip and so I can cook without chips of polish in the food

It is great to have the grandchildren around - but exhausting! I think deep inside we want to move back to the UK, Scotland actually, so that we will see more of them! Is that selfish or not? We have two in the Shetlands and one in England - not moving too close to either but equidistant would be nice. It feels as though spring has sprung today so off out into the garden this afternnon to inspect (and hopefully sort out) the frost damage. Hope you are all having a good day.

Mrs A's parents came to France years ago to be near our kids. The boys were young teenage then. After the novelty wore off they hardly ever saw their grandparents who, months later, went back to the UK. We have grandchildren now, in Canada. We keep in touch by Skype.Seems like a better solution, for all.

Skype is wonderful for keeping in touch with family all over the world. My cousin lives in Berlin and sometimes we have an evening of Skype, where we sit and laugh abut old times and wonder at the miracles of modern technology. We often get a bit hysterical,we giggle so much. Two old ladies united by technology.
