Good morning all, I came across the UK Oldies site this morning and thought that this thread will be as good a place as any to introduce myself. I'm a veteran of the Oldie magazine chatboards, which wound-up about 15 years ago, and one of Terry Wogan's TOGS (as Stan Doffish).

Good morning and welcome Caliban. We may have met on the Terry's old togs board. I put lots of jokes on there a few years back. I was an admin for the bbc boards. Good to see you on here.

Good morning and welcome.
It is pretty much nithering up here, inside the windscreen was just as frosty as the outside. A lovely sunny day now. Snow predicted tomorrow but hopefully I'm near enough to the coast to just get the Siberian wind and hailstones.

Snow predicted tomorrow but hopefully I'm near enough to the coast to just get the Siberian wind and hailstones. In the colder parts of the world car drivers set their wipers vertical and pull them off the screen before it snows , it stops them being below the snow making it easier to clear snow off their screens. I might try that myself.

A warm welcome to Caliban. You will be among many old TOGS here. I always listened to Terry on the radio and enjoyed the fun he brought to the programme. I have cut my hair short - very short. I am dangerous when I get bored. I got sick of having to set my hair all the time and it's much quicker to get ready for the day now. It will grow back eventually........

Not too bad here this morning - Mrs Tickle tells me it was sunny early doors - after overnight rain, but more rain is imminent, with colder weather arriving tomorrow.
The Vyne was very busy yesterday: we struggled to find a parking space - and it's a big car park - and had to go deep into the woods to avoid the madding crowd.

I really miss Terry, he was brilliant. Now that Johnnie Walker has hung up his microphone I find no reason to listen to R4 now.

We have been to Warner's for the weekend with my brother, s-i-l and two friends. We didn't really want to go but they insisted. Friday, Everleys tribute (good) Saturday, Elvis tribute (hmm) and Sunday the house entertainment crew, The Symphonics (Bob called them The Shambolics) Have to say, the food was really second rate - most disappointing. And it's not cheap to go there either - 800 quid (for two, 3 nights) I made a mental note not to be talked into a Warner's again. The things you do to avoid being a killjoy... On a brighter note, we all turned out to be quite good at archery and us wives beat the men (2 games out of 3) at Shuffleboard -you might have to look that up - never played or even seen it before. They were furious (and I'm not kidding)
I read all your posts about using old Windows versions...your system becomes more and more insecure when they no longer provide updates 🙄 so beware.

Living it up again, I see. Was it table shuffleboard you were playing? Support for Windows 10 is due to be pulled next October.

Morning all: We now have about 4 inches of snow that came down in the early hours, it's freezing on top of it so quite dangerous under foot.

It's far too bad to venture out anywhere today. I went to see If I could get the car out but it's more like 6 or 7 inches deep now and still snowing. So, it's back into my jim jams for the rest of the day.
