Dreadful incident with the dog in the daytime π Agree. Totally inadequate owner. Had you seriously considered The Camino? We have holidayed on that northern coast of Spain so came across doughty walkers all the time and often exchanged a few words with them as we got back in our car π€£ Love the allusion there. The Camino is a nice idea - I wouldn't mind finding that free wine tap - but I think I'm too decrepit now: a day climbing the bluffs in Salzburg last June pushed me to my limits. A holiday on that northern coast in Spain sounds good: an acquaintance of mine spent some time in the Asturias region earlier this year and posted loads of photos on Facebook - it looked fantastic. Cantabria. Asturias - fantastic. We go Portsmouth to Santander/Bilbao with the car...the roads are great and the Spanish (surprisingly) quite calm drivers. To be recommended π However, a summer in Austria sounds very nice - might consider that. I recall a trip to Kitzbuhl and we joined a walking trip. It was vertical πππ

Leave the leaves alone, I say - except perhaps the ones in the guttering. It has been a gruelling day in the land of living it up. On the plus side, my ancient laptop is working a bit better now I've rebooted it - I spent a significant part of the previous 2 days yelling at it and getting very grumpy. Mind you, I did find time yesterday, when the sunshine was dazzling, to wander round the uni campus and take a couple of hundred photos. This morning we walked down to the cinema to see "Paddington in Peru" and thence, after a coffee, we took a bus into Reading and went to look at dining furniture - the cheap furniture we bought nearly 40 years ago is getting a bit past it. Saw some nice stuff in Furniture Village, but then came home and spent a couple of hours or more comparing it with the furniture we saw on a website last week. Mrs Tickle and I used to think we were indecisive, but we're not so sure now. However, we finally took the plunge and ordered a table and some chairs online for delivery in early December. Nice to see you have 'fessed up' at last. Two friends have been waxing lyrical about the new Paddington film - the ultimate feel-good movie, they said π€

Northern Spain sounds very appealing, but the annual Interrail expedition takes up a lot of our time and energy.

My main computer scared me this morning. I updated last night and this morning it came on, then went off. Of course, I had forgotten about the update, I thought it had died. I used to be able to make a recovery flash drive regularly, but now it is not possible. I've got six flash drives out, ready to search for the one with this computer recovery. Luckily, then my computer came back on and it's behaving normally. I really must get to grips with the new laptop, ready to be prepared for the eventual demise of this lovely machine. It's an HP all in one , it's eight years old and it has always been a dream machine. Nothing lasts forever. My husband insisted I get the laptop with Windows 11 on it. Bless him, I'm missing him today.

I've got Windows 11 though I must admit I still prefer Windows 10 on my old Laptop. When you get used to the new type it's quite easy. None of the new types won't allow to do some things you could do easily on Windows 8 or 10 though.

Two friends have been waxing lyrical about the new Paddington film - the ultimate feel-good movie, they said π€ Paddington in Peru is great fun and a good counter balance to the 3 or 4 harrowing films we have seen in the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure there's anything we particularly want to see this coming week, although The Last Dance sounds interesting.

I've got an old version of windows 11 pro pc, I don't like the edge so I use Google now on it as it's the same as all my android tablets. I've got an Asus Google laptop and only use the comp to update my sat nav etc.

I used to be able to do anything with XP. I really liked that system. Each subsequent system has been learned, but when Windows 10 came out, they said that they weren't making any new systems after that . They said they would just add stuff to Windows 10. I resent Windows 11 for that reason.

Funny isn't it, one of my pals in town that I have a Latte with most days has his own business dealing with all methods of technology. He is a genius with computers. Anyway, he won't have a windows 11, he says they've spoiled it and he only uses windows 10. I still have an old Laptop with XP and it still works but of course there's been no updates for many years.

The laptop I use is an ancient Acer, which is at least 12 years old. So it pre-dates Windows 10, but that's what installed on it now. It's getting a bit creaky of late and File Explorer was impossibly slow earlier in the week when I was trying to sort out some photos. An update and restart helped, but it's still not great even though I've moved a lot of stuff off the laptop on to an external hard drive. Maybe I should try a defrag.
It was cloudy here this morning but brightened up in the afternoon. Mrs Tickle and I went swimming and the trees outside the leisure centre looked wonderful in the sunshine. As we left the centre at around ten past four, the almost full moon was just rising above the trees. Half-an-hour later, when we emerged from Asda, there was a fabulous pink vapour trail spreading across the sky.

Morning all: Much cooler again, not looking forward to next weeks cold weather coming. Off to M&S then to the local farm shop this morning.

You could try installing the CCleaner, it gets rid of loads of old files and junk, tickle. I liked Windows 7. Windows 8 was horrible, but the computer shop owner gave me a free tutorial which made it less impenetrable.
I had a photo stick, but I opted mistakenly for no photo organisation so I can't find anything except by accident.

Another gloomy morning here and not forecast to brighten up today. Looks like it might be brighter tomorrow, but changes coming next week.
I'd forgotten all about CCleaner, Rikii. Used to have it on at least one of my previous laptops, but some years ago. There were some malware problems with it a while back, I think, and perhaps I pulled the plug on it then. Never had it installed on this laptop, maybe I should.
