Now we have had a bit of a breeze today, which has knocked most of the leaves on the tree in the park which is behind our wall, we will be gathering all the leaves up and shovelling them up and chucking them back into the park this weekend. We have already put away our garden furniture, which necessitated a good tidy up in the garage, and the patio looks so bare.

Morning all: Very cold again this morning, hopefully a sunny day ahead though. The forecast says next week is going to get very cold day and night, winter draws on.

You know they'll blow back in, don't you ? 😂 We swept our front of leaves yesterday. Today it looks as if we hadn't done it.

Ah yes, but we sweep them all up into a pile by the back fence, open the gate in the fence and then shovel them out. The fence is about 7’ any that get back in deserve respect 🤣. Will try to take photo.

[Great-grandmothers rake up leaves outside their homes... then face a council fly-tipping fine for leaving bin bags on the pavement Margaret Baker and neighbour Ann Fowler tidied up the mess of leaves The former has recently battled cancer and endured a hip replacement She wanted to make her Birmingham road safer for its elderly residents They put the leaves in ordinary bin bags and tried to arrange a collection That is when they found out their actions could constitute fly-tipping ]

Rikii, I have spent all morning looking for my outside tap cover. As soon as I find it, I will put it on. I might be up late tonight looking for it.. Really chilly today, but still no rain. Wet leaves underfoot do constitute a serious hazard for us oldies. I am being slightly pressured by my daughters to move near them. Either to Connah's Quay or Ashby. It's hard to even consider either offer. I don't think I will move from here, but you can never say never.

It's only fly tipping if the culprits can't be found. If they put them out for collection, then it's not fly tipping. If it's swept up from road and pavements, it's not garden waste.

You glossed over the dog bite...how on earth did that happen? Nasty. You know I always rib you about 'not doing much' but seriously, I actually think it's great 😃 More power to ya. There's many on here dearly wish they were up to activity, of any sort - which is really tough - but while you can - you must. Well, I'm just a young septuagenarian and in fairly good health as far as I know - apart from my dodgy knees - so I like to get out and about as much as possible. I can't afford to sit at home doing nothing as Mrs Tickle would find me jobs to do. My father, who died 40 years ago on Sunday, was active until his late seventies, and his sister was pretty good on her pins well into her nineties, so I hope to be good for a few more years yet. However, I have no immediate plans to walk the Camino de Santiago. Re the bite: a small dog on a long lead just came up and bit me on the left leg as I was walking down the lane. The nastiest thing about it was the attitude of the dog's owner, but I don't really want to go into it as it would rile me up all over again. There are some dog owners who fail to understand that not everyone likes dogs, that some people are afraid of them and that, in any case, we don't all welcome them jumping up at us. You hear them say things like, Don't worry, (s)he won't hurt you, they're just being friendly but never I'm awfully sorry; here are my contact details, please send me the cleaning bill. And if you or I went around being friendly in such a fashion, we would soon be arrested.

Morning all: A tad milder this morning, it might be the last mild morning for a while though. Shops are really getting busy now.

It was quite milder and clear earlier, but suddenly a fog has come down and visibility down to about 20 yards. It came from nowhere and so quickly.

Had you seriously considered The Camino? We have holidayed on that northern coast of Spain so came across doughty walkers all the time and often exchanged a few words with them as we got back in our car 🤣
