THE SUN IS SHINING ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ and I make no apologies for shouting it from the rooftops (well the sofa actually)🤣.
There have been so many dank, dark, and dismal days it is a joy to see it however long it lasts.
I should get out into the (small) garden to tidy up but I’ve got some WI admin to sort out, from last week’s committee meeting, before the meeting on Thursday. If I don’t do it today I will never read my own writing. Between talking, listening, and scribbling neatness goes out the window. We were only four strong on Thursday but two of them are very loud, I’ll say no more.
we had a lovely surprise the other night. The door bell rang and there was our eldest granddaughter complete with some chocolate for granddad and some fab M&S flowers for me. They only live about a mile from us and although I see our son quite a lot and still do some taxiing for her sister (who is currently learning to drive) we see very little of Eve. She is taken a year off uni as she couldn’t get into her first choice and is working in H&M full time and loving it so when we go round she is either asleep, at work or out. So she decided to call round on her way home. She is a beautiful soul, and so is her sister. Mind you, chalk and cheese.
apologies, have rambled on a bit.

Just had our Covid jab, my eighth in the past four years. That's the RSV, Flu and Covid all in the last few weeks. No reaction so far.

My thigh is a bit better today, at least I can bend my leg now. We also had a brief view of something yellow in the sky this morning. It makes such a difference and lifts the spirits so much. I am feeling a lot better, but don't want to tempt fate, so I won't say it loud.

It was wonderful to see the sun today (Monday), especially as there are still lots of trees bedecked in their autumn hues. Mrs Tickle and I had a nice little jaunt involving 4 bus rides! Went for a wander round Pearman's Copse and then went to the Harris Garden at Reading uni. Stopped for refreshment at the campus bar and then came home via Asda - and in my case the library, as I needed to renew my book loan. This evening we went to see "Blitz" and for once the auditorium was fairly full.
Sunday was rather harrowing: got bitten by a dog whilst out walking and then saw my team get stuffed by the Toon - had to have an extra pint to drown my sorrows. Spent a couple of hours on Sunday evening going to hospital to get a tetanus jab. This is the only jab I'll be having this winter and it was mainly to placate Mrs Tickle. On the plus side, I did manage to read a few more pages of my library book and also returned the pair of crutches that has been hanging the house and garage for a few years.

Morning all: A tad cooler again today at only 3C at 4am. I guess it won't get any warmer now until next spring. At least it should be dry with some sunshine throughout the day. Got to hang around town this morning while my wife is in the hairdressers.

You glossed over the dog bite...how on earth did that happen? Nasty. You know I always rib you about 'not doing much' but seriously, I actually think it's great 😃 More power to ya. There's many on here dearly wish they were up to activity, of any sort - which is really tough - but while you can - you must.

Bright and cold again today. When I had new gates at the back, the joiner took away all the mess, but the garden furniture(sounds grand, but isn't) was covered with a layer of sawdust. I left it a while, thinking a good downpour would clear it. Our weather, being contrary, didn't provide a downpour, so I decided to hose it all down myself. First, I had to turn the outside tap on - not easy ,but I managed it in the end. Then I had to find the sprayer nozzle, which was hiding. Put everything ready to go and turned the tap on full force and the connector was not attached properly to the tap and so I got a cold shower I didn't need. I did manage to turn off the tap while being sprayed with force. It would have made a good comedy sketch. I eventually washed down the furniture and put everything away. Then I came in and got completely changed - I was soaked down to my essentials. I am just getting over the cough and cold, so I hope I haven't set myself back. Of course, I never thought of that when I got the bright idea of hosing the furniture down. Seems as though I will never learn.

At least you won't need a bath for a month now. Seriously though, it does sound rather funny, not at the time though. Well done for doing it yourself.

I really hope you have warmed up now, with no ill effects x

If you have an outside tap , you'll need to isolate or insulate it Althea, before it freezes.
