I think I mentioned that we were going to the cinema yesterday morning. There's a good reason to go in the morning, which is that it's quite a pleasant walk if you go in daylight, and a good reason to do so on a Thursday - there's a special, cheaper rate before 4pm. The film we saw was basically a documentary about the life of Christopher Reeve, which I found very interesting - not least the claim that Neil Diamond auditioned for the role of Superman! Not sure how Showcase make any money, though there can't have been more than a handful of people watching, including us. Much the same has been true of the last few films we have seen.

More anticyclonic gloom here. I've only been outside briefly to harvest some chives and rocket, and hang washing on the line, but it doesn't seem any colder than yesterday. Not much point hanging washing out, I suppose - next door have had the washing on their line all week.
I was planning to walk to the cinema and book to see "Blitz" on Monday, but have wasted most of the morning spuddling about in the kitchen, and now Mrs Tickle wants me to meet her at the supermarket as she forgot to take any bags with her when she went out earlier. I'll have to wander down there tomorrow when Mrs T is doing her stint at the local repair cafe - that's helping with admin not repairing things.

Morning all: Hopefully just a lazy Sunday today, just meals to prepare and maybe a little light cleaning and that's about it.

The last soap I watched on tv was ElDorado, that tells you how long ago it was. I will be watching the service on tv this morning. It's always very sad, my dad used to lay a wreath at the cenotaph every year.
I've got a spotted thingy for dessert today, I'm debating whether to have custard or ice cream with it.

Custard surely 😋 we’ve just finished watching Friday Night Dinner, funny, irreverent, sweary, silly etc. However the family is always having crumble on for pudding and now I am obsessed with having some. Trouble is I don’t eat pudding as a rule and Mr T only has yogurt or trifle or some such light thing.

Custard gets my vote, too. Mrs Tickle is keen to go and see "Paddington in Peru". Might go on Thursday, but we decided to limber up by watching "Paddington 2" on iPlayer. Tried to watch it on Friday night, but some free viewing app had taken over our TV. By the time I managed to uninstall the pesky thing, there wasn't really time to watch a film, so we watched it last night instead. Might go and watch the football at our local. Maybe just the second half so I don't drink too much beer.

Yesterday, I went and had my covid and flu jabs. I had the covid in my arm and the flu in my thigh. No problem whatsoever with my arm,BUT, my thigh is very sore indeed. I can't bend my leg and last night was a nightmare. I could lie on my right side because of the pain in my thigh and I could lie on my left side because my foot was painful. So ,I didn't get much sleep. I sat up with lots of pillows behind me and watched some awful off peak TV. I was too tired to get the Firestick to put a film on. It would have meant getting out of bed and walking one step, but I was comfy by then. I managed a short walk with my Leo. Sort of limping on both sides. No one was about to see me, thank goodness.

I used to love Friday night dinner, very funny. Last week (I think) there was 10 Years of FND with out takes, and interviews; Channel 4 I think. Very good. i loved Paul Ritter as Vera’s pathologist.

A spotted 'thingy'?? Ooh, you are coy Ron... Custard, no question. My mum used to make the 'thingy' using suet and steamed in a cloth. Ah memories...

Yes Althea..we both experienced considerable pain with the flu jab but none with the covid... Very odd.
