My neighbours were going to the local retail park this morning and I hitched a lift off them. (The bus takes an hour to get there, the car takes 10 minutes.) I had a good look round Florence and Fred at Tesco, as I have seen some magazines with lovely clothes in from there. I had a good browse ,but it was very disappointing. All the skirts and dresses were much too long for me. I am used to mid calf now, but anything longer than that feels like a nightie. I bought four new mugs for the kitchen, I have been using the same ones for more than 20 years and I'm tired of them.

It's been quite a nice day. I've charged and changed the ring doorbells outside. Should be ok for a few months now.

I had a new router today, just installed it and had to put the pin password in all my gadgets. All done now.

Althea, try Roman Originals website (not the shop), they do a fantastic petite range. I have several jersey dresses that pull on and drip dry. I too feel like a throwback to the turn of the century with a skirt one or two inches above my ankles. I'm 5ft 3ins and have a normal leg length and I find this site very good.

Looks like a lovely morning. Yesterday was dank, miserable and rained all day.

Thanks hildie, that looks very promising. I am five foot nothing. I used to be five foot three, even though my children say I was never five foot three. I have a short body and longish legs for my size, but some of the young people today are like giants to me. I have a bit of a cough today. I hope I didn't catch anything at the shopping park yesterday. I did wear a mask though. I sound like Satchmo this morning..

Cloudy but dry and mild here in Royal Berkshire - much the same as yesterday. Our house guest has just gone off to visit her mother and Mrs Tickle isn't back from the gym yet. When she returns we might go mushroom spotting at Warburg nature reserve, which is near the wonderfully named Bix Bottom. And then again, we might not. (They claim to get over 900 varieties of mushroom at Warburg, but I don't suppose they all appear at the same time.)

Rather a frustrating day. Set off for Warburg but got stuck in a traffic jam between Wargrave and Henley which cost us so much time we decided it wasn't worth going. Diverted to Hurley with a view to walking along the towpath towards Marlow. Walking all the way to Marlow on the towpath involves crossing the river thrice, but the third bridge is currently closed so we didn't get very far. Returned to Hurley and walked for half-an-hour or so in the opposite direction, a stretch we haven't done before. It was pleasant enough and the rain just about held off, but it was very overcast and the autumnal colours were somewhat lost in the gloom. Not many mushrooms, but loads of mistletoe.

Morning all: Another mild start to the day and looks like it's going to be dry with some sunshine, long may it last.

Cats are funny people. I have had a series of Siamese , the present Arena cat has suddenly taken to attacking my feet/shoes. Not in a nasty way but when they come into his vision he eyes them up then furtively dibs at them , first one then the other. Why I have no idea but then who can read a cats mind.

Yesterday’s bright start didn’t last long and turned overcast all day, more of the same today I think. Did my stint at Aqua (after missing last week) so some paracetamol was required. I’m 5’3” (formally five four) long body short legs, which makes buying or making interesting as the waist is usually cutting my lower ribs, so some pattern altering needed.
Your walking outings sound awesome to me W4T, hopefully when I get fixed I can start to build up my walking abilities.
