I spent a very frustrating day yesterday. I bought a new printer after years of misery and discontent with the old one. It is a wifi one, which cannot be used without connecting it to your computer, phone etc. I followed the meagre instructions strictly and everything was going fine until I had to connect it up. The computer didn't recognise the machine and even the Epson site didn't recognise the particular model. I bought it from Amazon. In the end, I rang my son who assures me he will be able to sort it out for me. I am as mad as Hell because I can't do it myself. I know what should happen between the printer and the pooter. If Rich can't do it ,I will pack it all up and send it back, which could be tricky because I have poured the bottles of ink into the tank. Life gets tedious, don't it!

Never had an Epson so not sure about them, I've always had an HP printer/scanner and no problems at all with them. I have found though that when first connecting I had to turn the printer off and back on again until it located the computer.
Turned out a lovely day now, I've just been out with my Windolene cleaning windows. We went to Dunelm again this morning and as usual came out with bags full.

Doesn't it work with Bluetooth Althea? www.google.com/search?q=setting+up+a+epsom+printer+for+dummies+you+tube&oq=setting+up+a+epsom+printer+for+dummies+you+tube&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCTUxNDc3ajBqNKgCArACAQ&client=tablet-android-incar&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8&chrome_dse_attribution=1#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:f6253a59,vid:F3-PpWw9ab4,st:0 Yes, you can add Bluetooth to an old computer using a Bluetooth adapter: USB Bluetooth adapter: Plug a USB Bluetooth adapter into a free USB port on your computer. This is a simple and common way to add Bluetooth to a computer. You just have to buy the correct usb dongle and plug it in an empty usb port. (Google your printer model number to check compatibility, some of these dongles will be universal)

I have never had success with printers Althea. Even if the damn thing recognises your document one time, it doesn't the next...🙄 I share your annoyance.

Morning all: Nothing much doing today, might clean the windows inside and maybe mop floors and that's about it.

Beautiful sunny morning here. I think I will go for a walk.
We're expecting a visitor from France this afternoon.

My son managed to sort it all out, but it took him an hour and he was amazed at how difficult it was. Printers are so different now, for example mine has no screen, you have to use it via an app on your phone. My son is very experienced with new tech stuff and he kept saying, 'well, that's not logical.' He told me not to beat myself up about not being able to do it as it was so complicated. We ran a few things through the printer and I have to say, the quality of the printing is absolutely wonderful. So, it was worth it after all. Like everything else - it's easy when you know how.

I thank you for the 'how to' video Riki. And I will look at it 👍 That web site is outstanding, it even lets you choose what type of lenses you want like scratch resistant etc, I bought two pairs I normal myopic and the same prescription again in variable sunglasses for driving in. That was for about £250.00 with about 4 days waiting time.

Meant to post this at quarter past 5: it has been beautifully sunny today but still one of the worst days of the year - it's not dark yet, but it's getting there.

Yes, really dark here at 5pm. I was up at 3am this morning. Normally up and around at 4am but my body clock told me to get up. I did go back for a short nap then get up for my shower at about 5.30am. I did intend to do some housework but we had visitors so just had an idle day for me.

Had a lovely walk with Mrs T today. Wound our way to Loddon Bridge via "the Wood of Eagles" and "Riverside Park", stopped off for a coffee, and then meandered back via the local nature reserve, where we saw both of the tawny owls and one of the heron, as well as a couple of people from the environmental group, who had just led a photographic tour of the reserve. This was fortuitous because the head man gave us a free copy of the group's calendar, which contains one of my photos. I did buy a copy 2 or 3 months ago, but Grace-1 took it back with her to the US, so we needed a replacement.
Didn't get home till 2:30 and found our franglais visitor sitting in her car on the drive - and the only sustenance I had in all that time was a cup of coffee and 5 or 6 jelly babies.

Good morning. It is - or was - much brighter and drier than the weather forecast led me to expect. There doesn't appear to have been any overnight rain and, when I stepped outside to test the air a short while ago, there was even a brief burst of sunshine. The clouds are heavier now, but it's very mild, and I spotted a Red Admiral fluttering around on the ivy.
Being a late riser, I missed seeing the Merlot lake on the kitchen floor - the ladies had mopped it up before I came down. There's still plenty left in the bag, but the box is very soggy.
Some good news, though: Grace-2's partner's dog, which went missing on Saturday, has been found.
