Luckily we only have 8 foot ceilings.

It's quite nice here today but rain forecast for all day tomorrow. My wife has an appointment for the new RSV jab on Monday, it's only for 75 year olds at the moment and they say they will get to older patients at a later date. I would have thought they would go from the oldest and work down but they haven't.

It's dry and sunny here today after about a month's rain in 48 hours. It's 18 degrees. I suppose I should have done some washing today, but I'm trying to rest my foot. I have been finding too many jobs to do lately, so I must rest it now. The only way I can rest, is lying on the bed. If I go into any other room, I find jobs to do. Yesterday I put up new shower caddy type things in the shower. I noticed the old one (stainless steel supposed to be) was going rusty. It was really easy to do, as all you do is stick the suction hooks to the wall. Of course that called for a clear out of products in the bathroom. One job always gets another.

I've just had a look at the NHS site to find out about RSV vaccination. This is what it says: I have searched for why availability is age-restricted but I found nothing.

Because health statisticians are cold brutal scientists Rikki.
Those 75-80 are probably most likely to survive but need hospital treatment and may end up with ongoing issued.
Whereas those over 80 are most likely to die, which is cheaper.
We saw this in covid where public health scientists sent old people with covid into care homes with no treatment plan or notification. When they put learning disabled people and physically disabled people in side rooms on sedatives and where cancer patients were denied treatment.
These people work on stats not humans.

Yes, Hild, you're probably right but they should have the guts to say so.

It has been a horrible wet day today. I finally had a proper shower today after weeks of showering with a cast on and a bin bag over the cast. It took a lot of preparation and planning,, as without my big boot on ,I mustn't put my poorly foot on the floor. So I had to devise a way to take the boot off right next to the shower and hop into it. I have a grab handle which helped. Getting out was a bit more difficult, but I managed it. It feels good to give my leg and foot a good lathering, albeit very gently. After I had the shower and cleared up after it, I was exhausted, so I've had a quiet day with my leg up.

I think cling film is better than a bag, maybe you could have enclosed the boot with it, with care you can get a snug fit. It is very dangerous not having both feet safely on the floor of the shower, soap can make the whole tray very slippery Althea. Or this?

I wanted to wash my leg and foot, Riki, It has been 7 weeks since it had a proper shower. I have washed with with a soapy flannel while sitting down, but that's not like a proper shower. I had many showers with a bin bag tied tight over the cast with no problem. I tried it with a bin bag, expecting it to be no good, but I'm glad I didn't bother to buy a plastic cover because bin bags did the job perfectly. Now I have managed a shower once, I think I will be able to manage it again, but I will be over cautious. I am terrified of making my foot worse. Bright and warm today, it makes me feel like doing something, but I will resist for the time being. Sense at last?
