I've been out in the garden with gloves and secateurs to deadhead the roses and free the weed encased lemon tree. It had one very tiny desiccated lemon on it. Dumping rotten bananas around the roots has resulted in very good soil in its pot. I poured some rainwater around its roots and will just see if it recovers. The Lady of Shallott is blooming exuberantly as will Boscobel now the dead heads have gone. I was hampered by the wind blowing my hair in my eyes and the sun casting a shadow over the tops of the roses so I couldn't see all that well. The Fairy is covered with hundreds of buds, and they come out in tiny pink blooms. Then I cleaned the oven.
I shall relax for the rest of the day but may make an almond oatcake to last me a few days.

A lovely sunny morning. We had our walk early, just in case the weather turns. It was promised to be 22 degrees, but we have 17. I'm not complaining though, because it is dry. I'm listening to Fairy Tale by Stephen King. it's a lovely story so far.

It was a busy day. I had to clear a space for my cleaners to work. I've run out of bread and the milk turned to yogurt. I've been reading all morning, finished one book, started another Bycatch by Susanna Newstead about a 13th century miller's daughter running from a rapist jumps over a stile and lands in 1800. Better than most timeslip novels that have the 20th century protagonist coping with Medieval or England. I got up, toasted the remaining crusts on my bread then came here to catch up on 21st century. I have to put the washing out, make some cake, finish the magazine off for proofreaders, go shopping and work on the music for Sunday's morning service and Friday's rehearsal

A dodgy cool start to the day, I thought it was going to rain, so I took his nibs out early. Now the sun is shining a bit, so hopefully we'll have a good afternoon. I am keeping my dog away from the ogre next door, who knows nothing about dogs but keeps telling me I am spoiling Leo. Leo is a good judge of character, he is so good with everyone - except him next door. My cleaning lady is in love with Leo. He followed her around watching everything she did, but not getting in her way. When she got down to clean something , he went and sat on her lap. She is entranced with him.

Aw bless, dogs love being spoilt. I would de exactly the same, no doubt he can tell when there's someone like your neighbour. It's turned out boiling in the sun now. Going to do as much washing today and tomorrow before it changes again.

Medieval girl finds herself in the 20th century and vice versa. Jolly.

Well what do you know, we are having two days of summer up here? It can't last, that's way to optimistic. Of course it will rain at the weekend, fingers crossed it doesn't.

It is 25 degrees here now. I can't find anything else to wash, but I have shampooed a rug. I'm quite tired now, but that's not a complaint. Ever since I got Leo, I have been getting tired and sleeping well.

28C in the sunshine, too hot to do much outside. It's 25C in the shade, done loads of washing and just finished n hour of ironing. Not the weather to be slaving over a hot iron.
