I particularly noticed that it was still light when I got back from Choir practice on Tuesday at about 9.15. It's sunny and windy here.
I'm going to the monthly genealogy meeting this afternoon. We meet at the Pavilion for a fresh cream tea served by Downs teenagers with lovely smiles and a tenuous grasp on skills. It always puts us in a good mood, and while we pay £3 each for a cream tea, we don't have to pay for rent on the room. We are researching the shopkeepers in our seaside town 100 years ago in association with the town museum. Some of our group have ancestors overseas and records are unavailable so it's good to access the records available.

That sounds just lovely Rwth... I would enjoy the company of those youngsters too.

Went to the theatre in the West End yesterday an as, Rwth said, we emerged at about 9.45pm to see a beautiful clear sky and light balmy evening. We saw A View from The Bridge. Dominic West played Ed... my goodness - he is one brilliant actor 😍

Morning all: It hardly stopped raining yesterday, I'm hoping for a few hours dry so that I can put washing out on the line.

It rained all day and all night. Today is cloudy, but dry. I still wait for summer. My little Leo doesn't like the rain. He looks out and turns around and comes back in. He suits me fine.

Another dismal day, I have managed to dry washing on the line though. Does anyone shop at Lidl? The lady there told me that they were opening an hour later on Monday morning, I asked why and she said because of the football match on Sunday evening.

Morning all: A sporting weekend ahead. There's the tennis finals and then the football. If you're not into sport there's nothing much else on the tv.

I can't be arsed to wear my hearing aids as they give me ear ache, am I now suffering from dis-phone-ear?

What frightens me about getting older, Riki, is that you can hurt yourself without doing anything. Just an awkward turn in bed can cause so much difficulty. It's an unusual day without a twinge somewhere. Being more active because of Leo, is doing me good, I think. I will be glued to the footy tomorrow night, but my love for tennis seems to have dissipated with the retirement of players I enjoyed watching. I used to love tennis and football, but somehow I don't have the same interest now.

I can't be arsed to wear my hearing aids as they give me ear ache, am I now suffering from dis-phone-ear? I'm sorry they aren't comfortable. Perhaps you should contact the people and they can find another solution, behind your ears for example. Maybe they didn't take a good impression of your ear in the first place. Are there any other problems they didn't solve, distortion at some registers? bad for listening to Wagner perhaps? Even if you don't like Wagner, my late OH and I were in a Hi fi shop when this enormous rugby player type lugged in a pair of 6 foot high speakers under his arms. " I need something else" he said "They can't handle Wagner". We looked at each other then tried hard not to laugh. If they couldn't handle Wagner, how did his neighbours manage? He could have meant the quiet bits of course. It's a bit overcast here and I am taking a rest today after a committee meeting yesterday, followed by a choir practice in the evening. It was OK, but being one of a choir of mostly elderly and all mature, trying to sing Maria's unhinged "I feel pretty" from West Side Story without Anita's cynical interpolations is hard. I think we might have to do some eyerolling on the night to add reality. It's a good choir. Up to Choral society standard and the main conductor has joined us to conduct or to add his voice to our Bass section. But our repertoire is more light classic.

I can assure you, if I lived near, I would definitely attend your performance 😁

I can't be arsed to wear my hearing aids as they give me ear ache, am I now suffering from dis-phone-ear? I have had aids for a few months now. They are digital and absolutely brilliant. The tube is practically invisible with very small domes that go in the ear. The little gizmo just sits over and behind the ear with no weight or discomfort whatsoever. National Health too..free, free batteries, the lot. In fact, a pal of mine has practically the same type from Boots and paid over three thousand quid! I'd go back to your GP for another referral and request them. Hearing's really important, otherwise you just zone out of all that's going on. Get to it Rik.

Hi all, I have a kink inside both ears, when they did the moulds for my ears the stuff they make the template front got firmly wedged in my right ear, when the audiologist tried to remove the mould the drawstring snapped and she went into a bit of a panic. That's when the fun started, tools came out and when it was finally removed the vacuum made a very large pop, she then left me in her trap and came back with a doctor, he said I now had a tasty bruise on my inner drum, it was a bit sore for a while and eased up after about a week, sadly the earphones worked but made my one ear really sore again. My replacements from the NHS via Specsavers now hurt both ears and the tulip fittings are really uncomfortable, I have to really press hard to get the aids in and out and out and one ear keeps going off, so now , sorry can't be arsed, it's a good get out now with Mrs cut-out having selective hearing.😁
