Did anyone see a change of battery? The replacement looked as dodgy as the original. I don't mind fiddling around but this was extremely radical. On my new mobile, the battery needs charging every couple of days. The old one lasted nearly a week without charging. Perhaps later models use more power. I was once told that batteries respond best to complete discharge then recharging to full. I keep my laptop plugged in nearly all the time but it only takes an hour unplugged to discharge most of its power when switched on. If I take it on a trip, there is plenty in it to boot up and work while I find and plug in the power cable.
I've had a busy day and another to come so I'm off to bed.

Hi rwth, my asus laptop lasted for ten hours when it was brand new, exactly one year after purchasing it faded down to two, I have in less than four hours now on two replacement batteries since then, none of the replacement batteries match the original battery and at sixty nicka a throw they ain't cheap. It only takes me fifteen minutes to change the battery but finding a one hundred percent original is for me impossible as the cowboy manufacturers all claim they are original, yet when they arrive the markings on these fake batteries are on the opposite side when its plugged in.

This is an interest topic. I used to let my mobile phone discharge then charge it up. On the Martin Lewis show they had an expert on that said you should charge your battery when it's between 40% and 60%. He maintained that the battery lasts a lot longer by doing that. I've had my phone for about 5 years and charge it every other day, never had a problem with it since charging it up when it gets to about 50%.

You outline the problem accurately Riki. It seems nowadays, tech batteries are not meant to be replaced. However, I go along with the advice that leaving devices plugged in is no good. Run down and charge. I have also purchased a lightning charger alo t with the tablet, which does the job in double quick time as the thing only comes with a standard cable. Recently , I bought a lightning charge cable (by accident actually)for Bob. He'd lost the old cable so I bought a replacement not knowing it was one of these fast ones. It also charges really quickly.

I always charge my phone when it gets below 50 %.Three years in and no problem yet. I wear it round my neck a lot of the time as my lot think it's better to have it on me, in case of accidents. It's not always convenient. My little darling and I didn't get up until 8.30am. He never makes a sound , but when I look over the side of the bed , he is awake, watching me. I am so blessed with this dog.

Hi all, I have had skype on my wifi internet for about 18 years, well this morning it went pear and so did I my microphone had turned itself off, I spent ages trying different things to correct it, the web suggested delete and reload. If I had any hair I would have pulled it out after reloading the app I couldn't remember any of my sign in codes, then I had a frantic search for my password book, which took a while memory man NO! it's awful getting old innit? I now take all day doing what I used to do all day. It's working now.
