Overcast today. I have to be approved for the dog before I meet her, maris. I have seen photos and she has soulful eyes, bless her.

Done all the whites and towels, just waiting for the sun to dry the towels now. I've ironed all the whites and put them away.

Returning to my earlier posts about the weather the North East: www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgrrjm496gpoThis is typical - a warning about high temperatures in England that ends with "The NE is not affected." It's the sole exception.

Except it wasn't. I went to the Rose Garden at Wynyard Hall and it was 23° and sunny, we were darting in and out of the shade. Arriving back in Sunderland it was brilliant sunshine a 20°. The roses were stunning. Darn sight better than the week before last.

Less than 15 miles away in Eston, it was overcast and cold all day yesterday, 14c at most. Today, however, is in stark contrast, warm and sunny and already 15c at 8am. Such a relief.
Edit It's 9:40 and we're up at 19c. A bit of dry warmth makes my breathing so much easier.

It is the same with my joints, scally, a bit of warmth helps me move much more fluidly. we all need a bit of sun on our backs now. The weather here is always just on the other side of the line on the map for brilliant sunshine. Still a bright day suits me fine. Of course, the wind always lowers our temperatures by a couple of degrees. Last evening I went in the garden to water my pots and my gardener popped up out of the border. I almost fell over, it was such a shock. I had no idea he was there. Bless him he had been working away for a while. He is so kind and not well at all. I think he may have been enjoying the peace and quiet.

More clarithromycin 500 twice a day for my lung infection after the first course failed? My CT scan is getting closer on the 8th of July.

Morning all: Summer is here at last, but not for long maybe. It was showing 18C at 4am and it's been a very humid night for sleeping. I was awake at 1am and never really got back off to sleep after that. Rain from Thursday so they say.

It's allegedly 16 on the beach, half a mile away and forecast for a sunny day rising to 21. We aren't going to get the heatwave but it should be nice out anyway. My cleaners are coming this afternoon, then I'll have to go and sort out the distribution of the Parish magazines. The usual expert has told the distributors that she will be away and they won't get them until July. But she didn't tell me. Nor do I know who they are, but I shall collect the lot and get them done. I shall also take it off her now she has dumped me in the mire again. I'm only the editor but I don't get the news until it's too late to get the proper information from her. Quite a lot of the disruption in the village stems from her, but she's absenting herself from all her other parish duties so getting a mixed message is somewhat predictable.

Rwth, there's always one...chin up. Actually it's people like you who just get on with it that keep communities going. Not easy.

We have a forecast of "partly sunny". So far our part is sunny, but there is a lovely gentle breeze which suits me fine. How is this for a coincidence? My two sons live far apart ad work in different fields. They only see each other for family occasions. When we were ay my grandson's wedding recently, they were talking about holidays. Without knowing it, they have both been going to the same small town in Kefalonia for the past few years, at different times. They have even been staying in the same hotel. I call that amazing.
