It's getting to that time when we're smothered in lard and sewn into our vests. Yes, your photo gives testimony to that 🤣

When I was a child, after our Sunday evening bath, we had goose grease rubbed on our chests and a thick, itchy ,woolly vest put on us. We used to cry and resist to no avail. Leo is over whatever made him sick. I have have a done a lot of carpet scrubbing and washed his beds and the rugs I put on the sofa. I am exhausted.

I remember having to use Carbolic soap my dad brought home from work. Haven't used it for years but I did like the smell of it.

Yes, take it easy Ron and Riki. I'm having a baking marathon for the College Christmas Fair. 6 cakes out of the oven and now I'm having a cuppa while everything cools down. Then it's cheese straws and an experiment. I have bought Christmas tree silicone moulds so you get an upright cake tree. We will see about that later, lol! How did the bake sale go?

Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions, Arena. We all have RL interfering with our virtual ones. he may be busy.
Well, I have been online all morning to get through to HMRC. I picked a bad day as they are very busy with self assessment/ end of month. I had to phone 3 times, twice I was cut off (don't know how or why) after waiting about 15 mins each time. I tried to use the website and it was going well until I had no passport or driving licence biometric numbers to verify me. It just shut down on me, even though I had an ID number and they knew all my details by then. I phoned again and just waited and eventually a young lady answered. She spoke quietly, or maybe I am going deaf. She eventually must have put a speaker on the line because then we got along fine. I told her I've had seven letters from them in 5 days. She said I would be getting another one in a day or so. I had worked out the amount owing correctly and I paid it over the phone. She gave me a ref no. but I asked for a receipt as well. She will send one. So now I feel as though a weight is lifted off me and I owe no one a penny. Happy days.

It's annoying isn't it Althea? Our pensions - whether they be state or private - we have no control over the tax due. The system is the same as PAYE. Of course you may have huge investments and an offshore account...😁

Caro seems to have gone missing. She's probably lying low after New Zealand lost the first Test.
