We will soon see who was lying. The NHS will be greatly enhanced by the vast amounts Britex said we would save from not being in the EU and immigration will cease, apart from the few specialist we want. BTW If Scotland do split ,we will have permanent right-wing Conservative government for the foreseeable future. As a Conservative voter, fine by me.

As she would! That's the difference, in Scotland Sturgeon, as a politician, has stood up for the best interests of her country's people. In England, swathes of people feel the opposite is true for them. Democracy swept aside by political disarray and worries about the pound/markets, instead of getting on with it. I keep reminding youse, I voted remain, but still accept the result. The Remain camp pointed out the consequences of a Brexit but I don't think even they could have predicted the dire catastrophic consequences starting to emerge The Leavers called it "scaremongering" but the Remainers are being proved right There are plenty in the UK who will not stand by and see their Country ruined by a load of xenophobic bigots
Are you going to persist in personally insulting everyone who voted in a way you didn't like? Because I personally am getting sick of it.

@tingramretro
Re-read what I said in response to the last time you said this, demonstrating the significance of the number. But, as importantly, I am agreeing with the principle laid out by Nigel Farage, as long ago as march which agreed with the principle I set out -- of course, now he has retracted because he got what he wanted.
And on the didn't vote, it is clear that a lot didn't vote, not because of apathy, but because the choices, the promises being made by either side and the rhetoric of scaremongering by both sides, made it impossible for them to make a reasoned decision. It is now demonstrated by events that the rhetoric of the remain campaign was closest to reality, so they react the way they do.

A biographer and confidante of Boris Johnson revealed this morning that his gam e plan was to run Leave and hope to establish a close contest but Remain winning and DC remaining as PM. This would establish Boris's position to succeed DC when he retires Apparently he is stunned and shocked by the result, he knows that the political assassin never gets the throne Noticed in the Mail on Sunday another possible contender, Jeremy Hunt. Interesting

Here's a thing "Second Referendum Petition Was Set Up By Outer The petition signed by three million was set up by a Brexiteer who thought his side would lose." news.sky.com/story/1717815/second-referendum-petition-was-set-up-by-outerIt's all very well for the Leavers to scream "Foul" and throw out the insults at Remainers who support this petition, what have they to say now

Perhaps David Cameron should do a Farage and unresign If the house (undemocratically IMHO) declares the vote void and refuses to implement it (more likely) or accepts 2nd ref (unlikely) then I can definitely see him doing that. I have never seen such an unholy mess... And heaven preserve us from Jeremy Hunt. Hope you were not offended Gus by my Gordon Brown quip...only trying to be light hearted!

If you have not yet reached saturation with opinions, I thought this one very interesting... opendemocracy.net/anthony-barnett/blimey-it-is-brexitQuestion Time this evening 6.30 has Anna (she who NEVER shuts up) Soubry (remain): Diane (oh so soothing) Abbot (remain): Giles(Loose Canon, Guardian) Fraser (leave): Paul (UKIP - need I say more...) Nuttall: Alex (all referenda void) Salmond (remain) and Dominic Raab (Conservative, never heard of him, leave)

Don't worry, to me that is a compliment. I was and still am an admirer of Gordon. A politician of principle, quite rare these days I see IDS has his tail up, and making demands I expect all those in Labour's heartlands who voted for Brexit will be delighted to see him. The man who single handedly slashed their welfare benefits, and if he and his "friends" have their way there will be more cuts "As you sow, so shall ye reap"
