Hi Arena,Hi all,
i,m Stephano,I am 62 and glad to be here.Must admit I HATED reaching 60,I did not handle it at all well. Strange...while you still in your 50's,you don,t think of being old.Soon as I reached 60,I had all these thoughts of being old....and not long for this world.I started thinking how many years I had left.I have 6 lovely grown-up kids and 12 grandchildren, and telling myself I wouldn't see them much longer made me very depressed for a while.
Anyway i,m feeling better about it these days.I,m still extremely fit and healthy,so i,m hoping to be around for a few more years yet ha ha
Stephano

Stephano. welcome. Sometimes it is a mad house but usually reasonably serene.
And on you being 62, well I beat that by quite a long way, but I am still warm vertical and taking in air. And don't fret, the alternative to old age is I understand a damned sight worse.
As I said to a friend, I don't mind getting old, that is inevitable, but I bloody well hate feeling old!

Welcome Stephano! I remember hitting 60... it's bugger-all compared to 70 - and now I'm two years off 80. But I am still only in my early 20s internally - that is, in my little grey cells.
Increasingly bionic, with third-party teeth, spectacockles, and now hearing aids... tonight I forgot to cook any dinner, and wound up making do with scrambled eggs - 'cause they're quick!

Stephano(youngster) Well spotted, but I was not sure at first whether you detected said age from my writing style. Yes the birthdate of 1900 has been on every social media site I have joined, which is precious few, and it amuses me that I get automated 'Happy Birthday' greetings on Jan 1st every year from a few people. Still waiting for that telegram from HM though.

Still waiting for that telegram from HM though. You'll have a bloody long wait - how long ago is it that they abolished telegrams?

I expect she'll send JJ a txt. Welcome, Stephano. Just turned sixty myself. It wasn't too bad, but maybe I'm still in denial.

Hi Staphano, I beat you by about ten years, but I try not to let them weary me.
