I'm so far past my puzzlement quotient this evening that I might as well log off. I'm sat at Taunton Station on a train to Paddington, if that has any bearing.
Who, in this context, is Adorable?

I did have a look when I joined the forum but there seemed to be no tradition here of introducing oneself, nor indeed any area obviously set aside in which to comfortably do it. I could tag an intro into this thread though if that's reasonable?
I was born overlooking a mountainous part of Tennessee, which back then was pretty much still a wilderness state rife with patriotic notions.
The varied forestry around my childhood home encouraged a precocious interest in outdoor botany - I recall losing my teddy-bear from my backpack while walking the trails with my parents though I can have been no more than three years old at the time.
I've recently developed political ambitions and have it in mind to one day visit Texas.

Hey Spot.
Nice to have an American aboard. I note you now live in Clifton (England?)
If so, how old were you when you left the USA?

Tell em nothing! It will come back to bite you on the bum!
I wanted to be an engineer from when I was quite young. Now I are one.
And Spot, methinks politics and certain parts of Texas are a pretty dangerous mix!

We had a similar saying posted in the Editorial at the Daily Mail.

Arena, I think I must be getting old and grumpy. Correction, I have always been grumpy.
What makes me rather sad is some of the e-mails I get from graduates working for large establishments. These people have been through about 15 years of education but are unable to spell articulate themselves and as for punctuation, well, you work it out for yourself, I can't be arsed to go through what I have just written seems to be the norm.

Hey Spot. Nice to have an American aboard. I note you now live in Clifton (England?) If so, how old were you when you left the USA? You will excuse me perhaps if I apologize - that was an attempt at paraphrase... Born on a mountain top in Tennessee, Greenest state in the land of the free. Raised in the woods so he knew every tree, Killed him a bear when he was only three. The answer to which is "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier". I'm with jonjel when it comes to Intro posts - they will invariably come back to bite you on the bum. Mind you, it would have been easier to recognize as a riddle if I'd mentioned The Alamo explicitly.

I am afraid I have never been able to 'hide' my identity on the net.......... To many easy clues.

The danger in Intro posts is not what you reveal that's true, but what's subsequently discovered to be false.
No acolyte of Araucaria could be accused of setting easy clues, surely.
