Thanks maris,I think I am. That must lift your spirits - it has certainly lifted mine 😊 We are going to see Grayson Perry's current exhibition at The Serpentine. He is somebody I really like - I'm reading his book "The Descent of Man" so I think some of the works will reflect masculinity and the way men feel compelled to present themselves these days.

Grayson Perry - very professional. Big Fall fan. There was a fake Mark E Smith twitter account that commented on various celebrities, always ending with "very professional. Big Fall fan". When Shirley Temple died The Guardian mentioned in their report on her that she was a Fall fan, purely based on a tweet on this account. Anyway, Grayson Perry is a big Fall fan. Here is a portrait of Mark E Smith on one of his pieces:

Grayson Perry's pot depicting the 'cognoscenti' - beware!!! "Join our group of unique individuals" 😁 Brilliant (free) exhibition - many pieces brought a lump to my throat 😰 the truth hurts!

You'll seldom see the experts on Antiques Road Show select paintings. The reason is,how insultingly little the public are willing to pay for them. Very often they barely cover the cost of framing.

It always seems to me,that people are afraid to express their opinions on art,in case their taste differs from that of the cognoscenti. People should have faith in their opinions, they are just as valid as other people's. I hate the élitist few in the art world who think their opinions are sacrosanct. If you like something - say so. Same goes if you don't like it. I know many who will not give opinions on digital art because they want to know how much work went into it. They would perhaps be surprised if they knew how long some images take. (Sorry going onto one of my pet subjects there.)

I presume this would come under "art" I have a new hobby, painting garden ornaments. We have a pond and a friend visiting gave us a stone otter, Checked the colours an otter should be and bought little sample tins of stone paint, and painted it. Now have the bit between my teeth and all our other stuff is getting "tarted" up The colour range is not brilliant so am having to do a Picasso and mix paints to get the colour I want Am going to get adventurous, considering psychedelic or rainbow storks!

This is a portrait of my granddaughter,Jessica, which was painted by an artist friend of mine. I love it and have it on my hall wall. BTW,I am Desilu, who took the photo.I had to use a different name on Booksie.com,because Althea was taken. You can read my poems on Booksie,if you're interested.
