I have just discovered this brilliant artist. If you don't want 'spoon-fed' art , you'll appreciate his talent.

Oh,I love this art. I love Chinese water colours and have an old book with many pictures of ancient water colours by Chinese artists. They are so full of serenity and calm.

I've probably done this before, but for as long as I can remember this is the painting I've had on my desktop:
John Atkinson Grimshaw.

It's lovely Aubs. The use of light is superb.

There are some stories in it, some cheerful and some not. But maybe the story of the people in the front room of the house is not one of the cheerful ones.

I have a friend, who is an artist who lives not far from me. The poor man has Parkinsons , but is as prolific as ever. He has had Parkinsons for 29 years and remains active and undaunted. He has raised over £80,000 for Parkinsons research with his paintings. He is running a course in the summer for people like me, who haven't painted for years. I am looking forward to it.

That sounds brilliant. That man doing well if he was diagnosed so long ago because I know that disease only too well (Dad, Uncle - now my school chum) They both deteriorated very, very quickly but my pal (15 years on) with limitations, is still able to enjoy life - so more power to him.
You'll enjoy that Althea - show 'em girl!!
Btw, saw your egret in flight at the top of the page...such a coincidence as I saw one in flight this morning on my walk! Lovely!
