I'm very impressed by Tamara's work.I really love Art Deco style in building, clothing and art. I looked at her stuff...I didn't like it! BTW, do people buy your paintings Althea? 'Only those with taste', should be your reply, A. SaveSave

I never paint to sell, maris.I occasionally paint a pet for friends, but mostly I paint for my own pleasure. I would not want to get into trouble with the tax man,nor would I want to be told what to paint. Thanks honey bear.

My friend is an excellent artist ...in leaner times she painted to earn money and hated it! Happily, she is better off these days, and so is her art!

Spent a couple of days in Norfolk and enjoyed the work of sculptor and artist David Holgate at an exhibition in Norwich Cathedral. This is Julian of Norwich...she stands at the east gate now. We thought we were going to do some birdwatching while we were up there... the only thing flying was debris and tree branches!

Are any of you enjoying The Big Painting Challenge? I am! 😄 Last night's dancers with movement was particularly difficult I thought.

I have recently bought a DVD box set...1764 minutes (!) 30 Great Works of Art, an hour, in depth, on each painting, with top historians/art historians. I have watched four so far, absolutely brilliant! The Battle of San Romano, Paulo Uccello The Resurrection, Piero Della Francesca Primavera, Botticelli The Last Supper, Leonardo da Vinci.

Ah,Da Vinci, one of my favourites. I believe he was a brilliant man,but lazy. I can understand that. The forming of the idea and design is the exciting part, then the actual carrying out of the design can be boring.

Windsor Castle!!! I was amazed! I tell you, she's got some stuff in her loft...

The Last Supper is on the refectory wall of a convent in Milan (I've never seen it. Have you?) L da V experimented by covering the fresco with some kind of varnish, hoping that would better preserve it. Trouble was, on the other side of that wall was the kitchen...all the steam and heat just made the paint fall off. It was all blotches within ten years of painting!

Why did they all sit at the same side of the table? No one wants their back to the door.

Why did they all sit at the same side of the table? Only in that one. In Poussin's they're all over the shop!
