Scotland didn't get the oil revenue though did they!
I believe Scotland would be a good neighbour to England but a better country on their own.
Rule by Westminster certainly hasn't done them any favours over the years.

Rule by Westminster certainly hasn't done them any favours over the years. Why should they have had the revenue from oil any more than Cornwall should get the revenue from fish. They are both part of the United Kingdom. Sturgeon seems to thin she can have a referendum every couple of years until she gets the result she wants.

As Nicola has ALWAYS said - it will be up to the people of Scotland. She isn't a dictator, it is a democracy.

That's one reason I detest referendums.
Where is the democracy in repeating the exercise, till you get your own way?

I quite like being asked my opinion again on various topics - my opinion does change if circumstances change, don't they with you? When you are 'promised' something and that doesn't materialise then the circumstances have changed IMHO of course!

You didn't get the result YOU wanted, but the majority got the result THEY wanted. Get over it. If what you are saying is if Nicola made promises she is unable or unwilling to fulfil, either take it up with her or sack her.

jonjel - it wasn't Nicola making the 'promises' though was it?
The 'Vow' will never be forgotten by the people of Scotland. You can tell lies once but the people of Scotland won't be caught out a second time!

I really don't believe you asked that particular question! Google 'Vow' and Scotland see what you can find! Well, all I can find is wedding vows, so I guess it is something for you to know and me to ponder. But I won't ponder too long......

I'm against referenda... here we are paying good money to representatives to look after all these wossnames, and then suddenly it's "Now you have to decide". It's their job!

Let the people decide!
You can't find the vow? The truth is you have either been on another planet, you don't keep up with the news, or you are just making mischief!
Perhaps you don't know how to Google!

Some opposition to the referendum has arisen from its use by dictators such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini who, it is argued, used the plebiscite to disguise oppressive policies as populism. Hitler's use of plebiscites is argued as the reason why, since World War II, there has been no provision in Germany for the holding of referendums at the federal level.
