I listened to Steve Bunce talking about this and he said Khelif has been around for years. She is not known as a big puncher, but more a technician. She only has 5 KOs and TKOs out of over 25 matches.
Therefore the idea the Italian girl was frightened about being killed in the ring is hogwash. This was a deliberate attempt to get Khelif disqualified.
It's not going to happen, she had some gender karyotypiing issues a couple of years ago. Similarl to what a woman with polycystic ovaries might have and she is having ongoing treatment. She is completely physically a woman.
What's more worrying is that 6 Chinese competitors tested positive for illegal drugs a couple (?) of years ago and the Chinese test their own athletes. They said traces of the drug were found in a hotel kitchen they where staying in and cleared them. All WADA can do is ask that they compete and test outside China more often. That's not going to happen, mostly they're never seen from one Olympics to the next.

Sex screening for biological gender (not intrusive, just a mouth swab) should be part and parcel of testing done alongside drug and banned substance screening. The chosen gender of any competitor is immaterial.
The reason there is doubt is because two competitors taking part have previously failed such tests plus the IOC won't say what their criteria is, aside from making the ridiculous statement that "their passport says female'
The 'polycystic ovaries' argument is a nonsense; the condition does produce elevated male hormones true, but not to the extent of overriding the female hormones also being produced by the ovaries.
Without transparency, outcry ensues. Having said that, hormone levels can also be 'doctored' to raise one or decrease another, which further complicates the situation.

She had failed a drug test some years ago and has since been sticking to the regime of treatment to bring her testosterone down to normal females levels. She has complied with all the requirements and has never been male. She is not trans.

That's the whole point though..her developmental stages have been influenced completely by male hormones resulting in body and muscle capabilities totally different to those of a woman. I know she isn't trans - female is the way she has always been identified, I'd guess from birth - which has nowt to do with her biological make up. And yes, I bet she has been rigourously sticking to the hormone treatment. Her boxing career depends on it! The only issue here is about fairness (and safety) in the ring. |

No doubt anarchists are part of the rioting but when something like this is happening in society, it's one thing to react with a 'task force' but nobody seems to be looking at or acknowledging what is behind all this and just blaming 'far right' extremists because a lot of people are angry about uncontrolled immigration and its impacts - and that's without factoring in fury over atrocities and attacks which add deadly fuel to this fire.
The Southport attacker was born here, and not Muslim. That fact was not relevant and fell on deaf ears. Their logic goes if his parents had not come here, he would not be here and three children would still be alive. Same as the Manchester bombings and Pakistani grooming gangs. The fracture in society now is led by the sentiment "Why are they even here?"
The political narrative of course is led by 'cohesion and integration' and furthermore, which is seen simply as virtue signalling and any feelings counter to this must be squashed - leading to more anger. I see and hear this all the time from people around me. They are not far right or demonstrators, just mightily fed up.
The damage is done. Nothing is being done. And so it goes on.
