The daddy long legs must have moved north, we've had hundred of them. One dropped in the bath last night!! Lots of spiders too and the midges are out in force over the fallen leaves - probably because the temperature has gone up. I have noticed that there weren't many butterflies around.

It's official, we have a deluge here. It has been constant all day. There is damage and flooding all round here, but thankfully not too near us. It has been dark all day. The water is running down our road like a stream in full flood. I see plenty of Daddy long legs, legs - disembodied on my white window sills. The spiders obviously spit the legs out. I trimmed a bit off my hair before my cleaning lady came. I always trim my hair when I'm bored or restless. It's a good job I have plenty left and it grows like grass.

Hello Althea, being a bald headed git I haven't got a clue what antibiotics they use on green hair? 🤕

Yes, Maris it was on Saturday but it didn't rain on Sunday either. Rained a bit at tea time today and looks like it is going to clatter down tomorrow. Clatter.. that's a right Northern word 🤣😁👍

The sun didn't stay out for long, but it remained mild and dry for most of the afternoon, before turning murky this evening. No walk as such today, since I needed to rest my knee, but I did stroll over to the food share with Mrs Tickle to get a few soup ingredients. It was getting fairly murky by then, but the rain held off, more or less until we got back home. Saw quite a few bats on the return journey.

Morning all: Another mild start to the day, we now need a few dry days to get rid of all this water from the floods.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/covid-19/treatments-for-covid-19/I had to share this info at work today and thought it might be useful for some of you or some of the people you know. It is about specific treatments available on prescription when someone gets covid. You need to be in one of the vulnerable categories or someone that your GP thinks would benefit. It recommends that you call 111, GP or your hospital specialist as soon as you test positive and then you will be prescribed one of the treatment drugs. This is to stop as many people going into hospital when along with the medication they could recover at home. If you seem to qualify I would ring the GP and see if they can note this on your records -worth a try. It also recommends that anyone in the vulnerable group keeps a stock of tests and tests every day for three days if they feel they have a cold coming on - just in case etc. The sooner you start taking the medication the quicker you will recover and hopefully not need to go into hospital. It seems like a good idea to me and I thought I should share it with you.

It is dry today, thank goodness. Last night when I went out of the back door, I was paddling. I asked a joiner to replace two small gates at the back, he got in touch yesterday and quoted £480 for two tiny gates. I was expecting it be about £150. I have told him I can't afford it. I'll find someone cheaper.

Quite a pleasant day here yesterday, although we spent two and a half hours of it inside at the rubbish and recycling centre. Should be okay today once the mist clears, but the weekend outlook is for more rain.

Many local roads, into and out of Buckley, are closed due to flooding. More rain is on the horizon. Do I care? Not a jot. I have passed my yearly medical with flying colours. Apparently, I'm an inspiration! I'd better be careful in case my halo slips off.
