Dry and 14 degrees here this morning. My foot is hurting more than usual which is a surprise. I'll try to keep off it a bit more until Monday when I go to the hospital. Is your foot still swollen then Althea?

I had a bloke to clean the oven today, money well spent. It looks like brand new now. I think we'll have him twice a year from now on.

I changed the bedding and managed to dry it all on the line this morning, then washed the towels and put them out. Ten minutes later the skies darkened and had to bring them in. It rained for a few hours and now the sun is out again.

Glad to see you back Hilde. I hope you feel a lot better soon. It takes it out of you.
Two people have sent their apologies for the preliminary round of the Cup competition in the Quiz league. We are up against the champions of both, so look like getting more of a rest this season on cup match rounds. I shall be unavailable for one away match where I have struggled to find the venue for the past 2 years. All the lines on the map appear to be rivers not roads. Often it's hard to tell the difference anyway.
I'm fasting today, but tomorrow will be better. Once I can get into my clothes without a gargantuan struggle everything will be easier.

Is your foot still swollen then Althea? A bit swollen,Riki. It;s hard to tell what it's like inside the plaster cast. Years ago on my motor bike I broke my ankle when my brother crashed into me, for weeks my ankle itched, I tried everything to reach that itchy zone , even bits of wire, when the cast came off my ankle was covered in scratches, I went out in my brother's A40 van, he told me to teach his missis to drive even though I didn't have a licence, we stopped on a hill at traffic lights and when the lights changed she panicked and slightly bumped the car in front, then she refused to drive any further, so dummy here had to drive the van back to their block of flats, I kept pressing the brake and accelerator together as the plaster cast was too wide. Fun days then though.

Morning all: A mini heatwave today for us, or so they say. 16C at 4am can't be bad. I bet it will be back to autumn/winter tomorrow.

It is already 20 degrees here. We're expecting 25 later. My friend is picking me up this afternoon and taking me out for a coffee. I won't be able to leave Leo for long, but it will be a nice little outing.

I'm back. I have had bubonic plague!!! No, not really but I have had this adeno-flu virus that is doing the rounds. It was not just a cold. This virus is extra special, it gives you proper flu, vomiting and diarrhoea all at the same time. I was expecting a plague of boils three days in but I got a cold sore instead. I sincerely hope nobody catches it, I am still as weak as dishwater and flumping in a chair as soon as I get in from work. That doesn't help but I've already lost a week's pay so I have to drag myself in. They say stay in bed and rest, but someone has to go out and get more tissues and paracetamol, someone has to clean the bathroom several times a day and someone has to change bedding and wash towels to stop yourself lying around in infected sheets. I went to the pharmacy. You know these new ideas where the pharmacist can see you and prescribe things - well, the best she could come up with was trying Vick on my chest. Amazing - as if I hadn't already been doing that, I'm old enough to know that bit of advice. Anyway through the worst of it now and I lost 5lbs. Stay off you foot Althea, we always think we're not doing much but we generally are doing more than they tell us to do. What? No sick pay for you? That's truly appalling Hildie 😒
