It appears that these planning committees need to include parking space as a requirement, much as they do for supermarkets which have to have more space for cars outside than customers and stock inside.
Nice day today.

Hi all, I had my MRI scan yesterday afternoon, it was for the whole of my spine, after 1 hour in the machine having to keep still for the entire time I was in the tube, both my hands went to sleep, I was certainly glad to get out of there. I think I was lucky in that I was only in the scanner for about half an hour, I almost fell asleep, definitely in the twilight zone up until the operator startled me and told me I only had five minutes to go. in my case the epidural didn’t work and the next stage is an op - rods and screws were mentioned 😮. It won’t happened any time soon but new diet started today as I want to give myself the best chance of surviving the op. Hi toots, at least you have got a backbone unlike many of this countries MP's.

It is a lovely day. I dried a load of washing earlier, all ironed and put away now. I've got all the towels on the line now and just finished painting some lattice outside with varnish. Making the most of this weather while I can.

Morning all: Very humid over night, going to get really warm later and all weekend. Last night we had pancakes for dessert, with lemon juice and sugar.

I went to b&q this afternoon and bought 5 x 20 kg bags of 20 mm gravel, I had to plead with the checkout assistant in the trade section to let me pay for them there, I would have to pull over 100 kg over 600 yards into the shop and back to my car, the pebble bags are right outside the trade counter, I parked my car next to them and loaded them in, I asked the checkout assistant if she wanted to monitor me loading up, she declined and said she would watch me on their CCTV. I have probably got to get the same again but she told me not to ask again, so I might have to checkout twice next time.

I'm surprised they didn't offer to take them and load them into your car for you. There's a fair bit of weight to carry.

Morning all: This is going to be a scorcher, or so they say. If it is then might do some gardening outside.

Agree with Ron. As a domestic customer, they def should've offered to help you. I expect if you'd purchased from a garden centre, they would've. B&Q expects tradesmen.

It's going to be overcast here, then burst out in hot weather. A bit tired today but I'll pootle around and do stuff.
It's useful being an old lady. People assume I can't lift and carry things. The local builder's merchant delivers if you ask nicely. They even brought the railway sleepers for the raised bed round to the back. Maybe you need to show an old lady what you need Rikiboy, get her to select what's needed and the staff will fall over themselves to help. Even though you've got a bad back you still look like a bloke.

You know when you watch a cartoon like the Whacky Races and when a car breaks down it goes, thud, thud, thud, whoosh, swish, screech, squeak all at the same time. Well that's the noise my car is making. It was driving fine, braking and steering ok, no flashing lights on the dash. I got home and phoned the garage. It's booked in but not for another week as he's off on holiday.
Mystery, the noise obviously wasn't loud enough for people on the street to turn and look but I'm not driving it until it's been looked at. If I do break down then Green Flag will take me to the expensive garage in the town, whereas my garage is under the arches of one of the bridges and he won't rip me off.
I just has new front brake pads and discs so it can't be that - unless it's the rear discs.
Bus to work for me this week. 7.30am dearie me.

Driving is expensive these days, I just wonder If you've has new front brake pads whether they are loose.

I was wondering that too Ron. I'll have to wait and see.
It's been a lovely day but as I didn't fancy a Sunday bus ride I did all the towels and sheets, watched the Olympics, did the ironing, cleaned the bathroom and made a lovely Sunday roast.
Amazing what you can get through if you don't go out!
