We have had about an hour of intermittent sunshine , now we are back to a threatening shade of grey.

I put washing out on the line at 8am and brought it in at noon, all dried and ironed now. It can rain all it wants to now.

Well, the weather in Portsmouth was just like it is here. Strong winds and lashing rain and COLD. Apart from the weather it was a wonderful wedding and we had a great time. Also, we got to catch up on all the latest family news from down there. The hotel was fabulous and all in all it was a wonderful event. It is nice to be home in the peace and quiet again though.

Always nice to be home and in your own bed.

Morning all: Back into the world of the living today. It will soon be the longest day, then darker nights again. This year is galloping by.

I've got a line full of washing out as well, keeping my eye on it just in case of rain. It is very overcast this morning. I had to walk around the city centre while my wife had her hair cut, Spent over £30 in Body care then another £15 in Savers. I didn't really need anything but it's funny the things you see and pick up.

I make a point of not taking a trolley into Dunelm and only buying what I can hold in my hands. I always have a plan of what I want to buy and shop around online first. If it's urgent I buy it in a shop. It wouldn't do for us all to be the same.

You sound like me, Ron. I can't resist a bargain. I stock up while things are on offer. It is dry today but cold (13 degrees). Somehow it doesn't feel too bad, now I know my family in Portsmouth are not having better weather. It is going to get warmer during this week - somewhere.......

It has been overcast all morning, but I managed to dry some washing on the line. All ironed and put away now.

Don't they sell the same stuff ie toiletries and cleaning? Still, by your own admission, you didn't actually need anything... I do use a number of products (toilet cleaner, all purpose spray etc) though my mum used to tell me off for buying them 'You only need two things - washing up liquid and bleach' She was probably right...

Though now it's white vinegar and bicarb. I used to make a pretty useful gloop with a grated tablet of white soap, a handful of washing soda and half a gallon of water with 20 drops of essential oil for scent. I like Rose geranium. A couple of tablespoonsful in the drum of the washing machine was a very effective detergent but I found out the hard way that it would clog the detergent dispenser. You could use a little on a cloth to clean the sink, the worktop etc and it came up gleaming and it cleaned the floor too.

Morning all: Considering how close we are to the longest day it's very dark this morning.
