UTIs can cause all sorts of other problems, so I'm glad you have got it sorted, Riki. I'm not sure, but I don't think we have local community treatment schemes in Wales. It sounds like a valuable service. After a couple of days of warmth, we are back to 13 degrees and cloudy today. I wish we could have a bit of summertime. Thanks for the video ,Riki. The firm sent me a video of how to uncouple the blades from the spindle. All is now well with the food processor and I am delighted with the machine. The firm were helpful and patient, I am a big fan now.

Morning all: Another nice start to the day and very mild. But they forecast the weather will change again later today to wet and windy.

It's already wet and windy here today. No more sunshine for a while. I am going to paint later, it keeps me busy.

What on earth has happened to Flaming June? Snow in parts of Scotland and back to January weather at the start of summer.

What on earth has happened to Flaming June? Snow in parts of Scotland and back to January weather at the start of summer. It's not unheard of. It has just been so very wet since about the end of July.

Cold May is the norm where I live, due mainly to the fog that rolls in off the North Sea and covers the whole of the Tees Valley for about half the days in May. It happens when the weather forecast predicts "bright sunshine for the entire country, except for the North East coast where low-lying cloud...". At least this year, it's been pretty chilly everywhere. Many's the time I've come down from the sunny North Yorks Moors and it's been like someone turned the light and heating off as the car became enveloped in mist. Still, it's not that vile smog nowadays.

My youngest daughter went to Teeside uni, scally, and we used to go up and visit her often. People up there used to say we wouldn't be used to the cold up in N.E., but we didn't find it any different from North Wales. My uncle and aunt lived in Whitby and we had to go over the moors to reach it. Wow, it was like a rollercoaster going down Salter's Gate. There was often a fret off the sea that took all morning to clear. It is dry and bright here today - but SO COLD. My cousin keeps telling me it's 27 degrees in Berlin. Hmph! She is coming to England next week , so she's in for a shock. I've told her to bring jumpers and cardis.

Yes, very cold breeze this morning. I had to go for an annual check up at the surgery and all was well, no problems with bloods etc. We have friends up in Redcar and have been up there a few times, always found it very cold, but locals were walking around in t shirts.

It's May, in particular, that is so cold herabouts. If you think back a year, much of May was lovely and warm almost everywhere while we got day, after day, after day of fog! It's so depressing to hear the weather girl add that fateful "except on the NE coast" to those (admittedly infrequent) forecasts of "warm and sunny everywhere". Redcar Races have been lost to fog a few times that I can recall, along with plenty of racedays when all you could see would be the final furlong. (I like my racing.)
