There faces aren't the same though so the device wouldn't last long in a film. I mean fine from a distance but up close people would know it wasn't the same nun.

I don't know - characters in films can be incredibly stupid and unobservant, if the plot demands it.

I don't know if everyone has Sky on here. I particularly like Mrs Fishers mysteries and the Dr Blake mysteries. At the moment there is Bates Motel on Universal which has been an excellent series. This is the final of the series.

Miss! Or else she has a very accepting (or dead) husband. I got to like those while visiting some friends in Malmesbury; they were on bit of a kick on them, and I found them really captivating. I've not watched any since I got back though.
I saw the first part of American Gods last night. Bloody good, it were.

Of course it is Miss. Father Brown is another I like. I like the Kenneth Moore ones, not the new ones. They're ok, but they miss Chesterton's weirdnesses: not so much in the plots, but in that 30s atmosphere - with sun worshippers who really do worship the sun, monkey glands therapies, anarchists, esoteric clubs, etc - all part (I've just realised) of Chesterton's idea that when people don't have God they'll worship anything else that's available. Some of the Father Brown stories are very strange. Oh, and I also like the film, with Alec Guinness - where the Pink Panther films got that bloke who keeps attacking Clouseau from.

Hinterland? It's a slow burn but very enjoyable. Another craggy brooder Maris!

The Durrells and Grantchester on tonight. Not wonderful but ok for a Sunday evenings viewing.

We record the Durrell so we can zip through the adverts. Enjoyable fluff for a Sunday night.

American Gods is really good. Also that rare thing: an adaptation of a novel in which the race of the lead character is not stated, and the TV version makes him black; it has happened that the book describes a character as being black, or brown, and the TV or film version makes him white (the US version of Earthsea did that).

I gave Poldark the swerve and watched Loch last night. It was quite good...a number of suspects for the murder/s! Anyone see it? Or maybe you were all hoping for another Aiden Turner shirt moment...

I like the Loch but then I am a Siobhan Finneran fan from her Benidorm days Poldark has become a bit boring with the same of story lines, the endless Poldark/Warleggan battles
