How is a French (EU) company selling electricity to the UK something to cheer about? SaveEDF took over the old SWEB, I continued to get my electricity from them and my gas from British Gas until I did a uSwitch comparison which told me I could save £400 a year by switching I did, and it worked so there's no entente cordial from me

That's odd - complaining about EdF ? I thought everyone on here voted Remain? I'm a Remainer and my complaint about EDF was their lack or recognition for loyalty, and dearer prices

Banks, utilities, etc...if there's a better deal out there switch.

So true, our insurance renewal came in - increase of over £100 on the previous year Comparison site showed same cover for less than we had paid the previous year, a saving of well over £100 Called the provider to say I was not renewing, "Did we do something wrong he asked" and "You should have given us the opportunity to reduce our quote!!!!!!!!! That infuriates me

They are not proactive, these companies. By not contacting you after their renewal quote, they lost the business. So short sighted.

BT are worse than most, I keep hearing their super special offers whilst I am tied into an expensive contract until November. They have the worst customer service people of all, when I query why I am paying so much they snootily say that I must have taken advantage of a special offer when I signed up, and basically tough s**t. Can't wait for November to tell them what to do with their service. Rub is I moved up from their broadband to their fibre Infinity which is slower than my old broadband, their tech help to solve the problem amounts to switching the modem off, doing a rain dance, and switching on again. I suspect that though I have fibre coming into the property, somewhere back along the line it just connect to old fashioned copper

I didn't even know that BT/Openreach own the whole fibre network and Sky et al pay to use it! In rural areas, BT is hopeless...several friends in North Essex and Suffolk are without broadband for days at a time. Btw, what this has got to do with Brexit, I have no idea😁! We should start a general moans thread...

While walking down the street one day a well known politician is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. 'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.' 'No problem, just let me in,' says the man. 'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.' 'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the MP. 'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly & nice guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises....
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him. 'Now it's time to visit heaven.' So, 24 hours pass with the MP joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns. 'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.' The MP reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.' So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the MP. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviare, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?' The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday, we were campaigning.. ... Today, you voted."

This is an example of what the "little England" Brexiters wanted "Australian Brain family 'hopeful' over deportation deadline" www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-36924943It will be interesting to see how this pans out, the Home Secretary behind all of this was one Theresa May ably assisted by her henchman James Brokenshire (now N Ireland Sec)

They were able to stay and run their business provided they employed a certain number of people; they fell below that quota. Now you can argue the rights and wrongs of that, as I believe it was a successful shop/post office, but it has nothing to do with Britain staying in or leaving the EU.

It was everything to do with Brexit, the paranoia and hatred stirred up by little Englanders about immigrants (admittedly initially about non whites but hurriedly switched to include all immigrants once they were accused of racism People such as these Australians have come here for years to make valuable contributions to our society, all of Scotland seems to want them to stay
