Pity the Brits don't do the same Bry. They seem to moan about people not paying then don't ask them too......daft I calls it! I agree The NHS is part of the "dependency culture" so beloved by the controlling socialists, any attempt to make the slightest improvement or greater efficiency is met with howls of protest and panic that this crutch is to be taken away The more I think about this I am turning to the view that we would be better off with a different system such as is on offer on the Continent. It would certainly be more efficient and user friendly "Greater efficiency" means cutting the wages of the staff who work there - as it did with outsourced cleaners, for example. It also means greater demarcation, as when (in PFI run hospitals) no one is allowed to change lightbulbs except someone from the company with the PFI contract: and they charge a hell of a lot more than a hospital caretaker (or the like) would cost. And companies run for profit cut corners; they always do. They are not more efficient, as anyone who has worked in one would know.

Boris delivers his usual load of tripe, a virtual rerun of his referendum campaign nonsense, in a speech today. The first of the Cabinet Leavers to deliver speeches in a running sequence, no speeches planned by the Remainers or soft Brexiters in the Cabinet planned Where was Chairman Corbyn's response from his eyrie sitting on the fence. Only sensible Labour response coming from Chuka Umunna but he of course is New Labour www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-43062108

There's something to be said for keeping one's hands clean when there's no purpose served in letting them get dirty.

I agree Aubrey - it is a Tory mess and they are having to deal with it. There will come a time in the not too distant future when they admit they have made a huge mistake IMHO of course, but as they are so arrogant in all of this that party comes first and the people don't matter. brexit will happen because of this arrogance but a deal - I don't see one!

According to The Independent the EU have suspended all talks until the Irish border issue is sorted out - I don't see that happening anytime soon. There is the issue re Gibraltar as well, that seems to have been pushed into the background but is still an issue to be resolved.
Each day there seems to be more problems than answers - we don't seem to be able to get at the truth in any of this. One side says there has been good progress the other saying no progress has been made!

All discussion has been stopped until the Tories find a solution to the Irish border question (aint gonna happen ) after that, the one she never mentions the solution to the Gibraltar border question.
