A thought occurred to me this morning, Teresa May standing for PM, Angela Eagle first to put a hand up for Labour's new leader... Not a thing has even been mentioned in these days... that these are women! Why? It's IRRELEVANT!!!!! That is surely something to celebrate in this great country of ours

I think Boris has made a very wise move. Whoever gets it it will be a poisoned chalice.

Boris' decision baffles me...has he got a game plan here... I can't believe his ambition has evaporated. Maybe he has just read the runes...he had enough boos in the last couple of days... Crabbe...hmmm... I reckon he is just putting his name out there for future reference.... Gove? Well...he has form in education...can't see teachers with a placard 'Gove for PM'... May is safe, but a bit boring and lack lustre....PM qs wouldn't be worth watching for sure

Boris has seemed very subdued since the referendum. I think he's simply worked out that whoever is in charge of the upcoming negotiations is inevitably going to have a tough time of it, and he's just not up for it.

Either he's had a sudden rush of humility, or there is another angle and I reckon with Boris, there's always another angle!

I'm guessing that it was Gove's decision to stand that took so much support away from him Gove, big pal of Cameron and Osborne - work it out

Haha..you don't reckon it's got anything to do with the fact that Boris is a liability then?

It's revenge, always best served cold Johnson buggered up the grand plan of a gradual Cameron withdrawal and an Osborne take over

Ooh...don't know if I'd agree with you there. However, I do think that Osborne has a brilliant political mind but he looked a bit of an idiot during the campaign. Of course, Remain lost but then Osborne worked his socks off in the aftermath. Impressed. Blame Johnson? Heseltine does, that's for sure! He looked like he wants to kill him!

Having now discovered that Johnson, Gove and Farage are serial liars, do the people who voted to leave not feel cheated?

Interesting that the papers (at this stage) seem to be backing May...a Remain. Actually she was canny in that she kept a very low profile during the campaign which has enabled her to pop up again and align herself to whichever side won! She who has presided over massive immigration (the big issue) and done nothing...now puts herself forward to be PM...she is the one who is definitely seizing the opportunity! I think we need a Brexit PM.
Gove? He needs to tell us more. If anyone saw Question Time last night there was a scenario put forward by one of the panel... Gove and Johnson go back to the bunker after the result and Gove rubs his hands with glee and says to Boris "Amazing, we won!!! What do we do now? " Boris ruffles his hair and says "Haven't got a bloody clue!!!"
Boris has simply said he's not standing. But he hasn't said why. Backstabbing/political ambition from Gove may not be accurate...
