Jonjel, that is a very good post. It gets right to the heart of it. How can you have talks with a group that has no aims other than to cause maximum death and injury. What they can't do is terrorise us. Knock us down and we'll get right back up again and resume normal life. We don't feel the need to avoid high rise buildings, airports, undergrounds, places of entertainment etc.
I'd be interested to hear how you would achieve that Gus.
We are suffering the backlash of US gross interference in the middle east and you reckon the Belgians should sort it out.
That "backlash" is festering in Belgium largely because it can, they have weak government (actually had no government for some time recently. The main problem stems from the two rivals, the Flemish and Walloons who only just tolerate each other. In Brussels a further complication is the different language there
This will drag on, and the terrorists will take advantage of this. Belgium had a pretty much open door policy, which Germany also had and will. The only answer will be for a "Trump" to appear who would take a much tougher line
I really hoped that he would have been knocked out of the race by now, but here we are several weeks on and he is still in the running. I can only hope that good sense finally prevails later on in the year or we will be looking at 'President Trump'.
It will be interesting to see what stance the sane Republicans take. Would they vote Clinton to keep him out, or will they hope that the House of Representatives will rein him in? He truly frightens me.
