It would seem that he is ever closer to becoming the Republican candidate.
I have yet to see him show any finesse. A lot of contempt for both his rivals and anyone who dares to argue, but maybe somewhere along the line people will start to question whether they really want this man as president.

We all have systems which could be improved but this strikes me as a potty way of choosing the next president. We do a bit better, but it is rapidly degenerating into a beauty show conducted by the press. Maybe it would make sense if we adopted best practice from around the world. I believe in France you are not allowed to publish an opinion poll for several weeks before an election, and that seems pretty sensible to me.

Another forum I go to has a rule of no political threads in the runup to an election. Democracy these days is a fallacy, there is none. How it will ever be changed I just don't know. All the power is in a few hands.

All the power is in a few hands. Democracy as we have it now is all we have, and although it may be flawed is a damned sight better than what is experienced in some parts of the world. I would be interested to know what thoughts you have on how we change it to make it better. There was a S African saying which I once read which said words to the effect 'Before you destroy anything make sure that what your replace it with is better, not just the different same'. Quite thought provoking, and if only some people had born that in mind over the years.

I do agree things could be lot worse. I just don't know how things could be improved, I only know they should be!

If Trump becomes president, I will be boycotting all things American. It will my way of having a protest.
If I make my own burgers that would be OK wouldn't it? :/

A person who in pubic says 'anyone seen throwing a tomato, beat the crap out of them, I will pay your legal fees' is a person who should be regarded as not worthy of any office, let alone president.
A very dangerous and divisive person.

I'd be interested to hear how you would achieve that Gus.
We are suffering the backlash of US gross interference in the middle east and you reckon the Belgians should sort it out.

I'd be interested to hear how you would achieve that Gus. We are suffering the backlash of US gross interference in the middle east and you reckon the Belgians should sort it out. Do you really put all this down to US interference Arena? If that is the case why don't the terrorists target lone US servicemen, US Service cars which stand out like a sore thumb, American institutions of any kind? It is not because they could not, they most certainly could. I put this on another board, and am re-posting it here because I think it might be relevant. Actually we could do with a whole new thread on this, but in time... What the hell are these people trying to achieve? What political point, no matter how abhorrent are they trying to make?
In Cyrus we had EOKA. One could argue that what they did was immoral and appalling acts were carried out, but they did have a serious political aim, independence for Cyprus. Much the same could be said about Mau-Mau and for many other groups.
But what are these people trying to achieve, seriously. All they are doing at the moment is alienating almost everyone, and creating a climate of suspicion and fear of anyone who might be Muslim, or from some parts of the world. They are not seeking freedom for their people because here in the West they have that in spadesful, far more so than in the parts of the world from where they originate.
If someone can pin that down then maybe we can begin to understand things, and just start to come up with a solution

As someone who was injured (slightly) in an IRA bombing in the City of London. No nationalities mindless morons surprise me.
