He makes my blood boil, and he is frighteningly close to becoming a Republican nominee.

I wouldn't waste good worrying on him... Agreed Scorp. But how I would love to see him over here being interviewed by someone like Paxman, and that interview to be broadcast in the USA

I was travelling in the US with a business friend when George W was president. My friend was one of the brightest men I have ever met. On some long and dusty road in New Mexico I asked him 'What do you think of George W?'
He paused for a bit then said 'I think he is the most dangerous man on the planet, but the real problem is, he is surrounded by even more dangerous men'
My friend is no more, and thankfully did not live to see his prophecy fulfilled.

With a wig like his he'll never get anywhere. Trouble is, it's not a wig. I agree he is even more scary than Bush.

I find it frightening that the American public could go potentially from Obama to Trump in one sitting.
He's been stripped of his honorary degree at Robert Gordon's University in Aberdeen and he has lost his honorary Scotsman title too. He is now taking Aberdeenshire council to the European Courts because of 14 offshore windmills that would impair the view of golfers at his new golf club.
I've always thought honorary degrees were a swizz, and people seem to get them for very little effort.

I've never understood the point of honorary degrees. Some folk have to work damned hard for a real degree. What do those people get out of having an honorary one anyway?

Just a formality... nobody is fooled into thinking the degree actually heralds any kind of academic achievement. How else can a University say 'thank you' for services rendered, AND get a bit of publicity?

I get the thank you bit of an honorary degree, but some people seem to get them for very little effort or input. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34659751Clearly a man like David Attenborough is different who has devoted his life to wildlife and trying to educate us through his programmes, but Dannii Minoge?
