I am terrified of pressure cookers due to my mother's adventures with them as I was growing up. I am still traumatised by the rice pudding explosion and the pea soup fiasco. Lol, this post made me laugh, my mother had 'adventures' with her one too. My granny however used to do the most amazing steak and kidney pudding in hers.

Just seen a couple of new gadgets......Oh oh here we go again. Butter ..... keep it in the fridge, it's hard.Leave it out,it melts. BAH! Gadget one: A battery heated knife. Gadget two. Picture an aerosol can, you put a slice of butter in it...wait a minute and spray butter on your sandwich or whatever. I love reading about your acquisitions 💗 You know they'll turn out to be cr*p don't you? But hey, acquisition is where the pleasure lies. Happy ordering! I paid nearly thirty quid (I know, I know) a couple of months ago for a butter dish guaranteed to keep butter cool. Guess where it is? In the fridge? Jonjel, and Arena for the matter of that: I always find that using a hot knife to spread butter is a dead loss: it cuts well enough, but otherwise just melts the butter it touches and then skids about, so you end up with bits of hard butter on a slice that is otherwise all but uncovered. Much better, and much more exciting (by which I mean risky), to put the butter in the microwave for a few seconds.

Most delicious of all is taking the butter out of the fridge and spreading it thickly on your toast, it doesn't go anywhere hence more butter! 😀

I managed to break the handle on my very old brush-hook a few dasy ago. I went shopping for a new one and had the pleasure of asking at various garden centres and hardware shops 'got any fork andles, andles for forks?'
And I found one in my local farm supplies outlet. I only went in for a handle, but came out with two rather nice reclining fold up garden chairs. Al I need now is the time to sit on one of them.....

Following this post, as our has several leaks, my OH said he is going to delight in visiting a hardware shop later today to say "Got any O's?" 😁😁😁😁😁😁

Those are brilliant Goldilox. I have to ask where they came from?

When my OH went into the hardware shop he told the assistant he just had to say it...'got any O's?' She raised her eyebrows and replied without smiling "You're the third today"

I love those old fashioned sweets, you sometimes see them on market stalls Addicted to coconut mushrooms and aniseed balls

When I was a little girl, I used to buy these. They taste absolutely disgusting but the jar always fascinated me. I think they were meant to freshen the breath before assignations😄
