Grandfather Irish - coal miner all of his working life until it literally killed him. Grandmother Scottish, a tiny wee woman who brought up 8 children on next to nothing.
Yes we are all immigrants in one way or another. Living here in France we are immigrants - the nice thing is we are made very welcome!

So what? Are you suggesting that that is a good reason to open our borders to all and sundry?

What makes you think "all and sundry" want to come here?

What makes you think "all and sundry" want to come here? Have you perchance visited Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, Niger, Nigeria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria......? ......

Many local authorities have already taken in refugees - over 200 in Hull, one of the poorest cities in the country and they have said they have room to take more. Lincolnshire have also taken a fair number as well. If every local authority is willing to step up to the plate then what is the problem?
Surely if this was rolled out throughout every local authority in the UK, the government couldn't say no. They will know how many they can take re accommodation, schools etc.
Does it not make sense? I think it does

Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, Iraq and Jordan - yes. Although they were Tanganyika and Italian Somaliland at the time. Well things have changed since that time with massive population explosions, massive poverty and crime rampant Many people in those countries would chose to live in Europe rather than their homeland

What right wing views. Why would anyone chose that option?

I'm sorry but this board does not operate on the system that one is duty bound to reply to your posting, especially when the answer is self-evident.
