Being an idle sod by nature, I never thought I would miss physical activity, but...

Not being able to exercise or even move properly is a real bugger. I can do a very good impression of a penguin tottering across the lounge floor. However my move to Edinburgh has been a revelation for my health! I have been seen by some amazing doctors and physios who have managed to align my hips where they ought to be and not wonky as left after my accident. I also see a Slovak man who gives me a deep tissue massage every 3 weeks (oh my, that was agony the first few times) and this has helped me be more upright and mobile than I've been in the 19 years since my accident. I can do more now than ive ever been able to do, but that said if I over do things like this weekend I end up back on my crutch and penguining.

I thought I was being singled out as a targetted victim at the pharmacy counter. I feel so offended. Sometimes I get so angry, I also ask them if they want to know how many aunts and uncles I have residing in Australia and that offends the assistant. You're absolutely right to protest and it is a downright invasion of privacy.

I get pissed off when webmasters say they have changed the setup to make things easier for me. It never is easier, just different, but I have to work my way through it to find things again. As soon as I'm comfortable with the setup, they bloody well change it again to make things easier. You know what the Yanks say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Agreed. Been fighting a brand new system here for a couple of months. I felt very comfortable whizzing round the old one. Now I have to constantly think. And I don't think too well at the best of times.

They may not do it to annoy us, but to justify their existence.

Well, if things weren't upgraded from time to time we'd all still be using command-line computing, with a teletype printer for a terminal.

Necessary upgrades are fine by me. But that is not the point I'm making.

They were ruddy hard work, weren't they? I still have my old Adler upstairs somewhere... with my Ferrograph tape recorder; both out-dated junk... I pulled a muscle lugging that about.

And now for no logical reason my screen background of a happy little granddaughter has disappeared.(got it back but only after a lot of fiddle faddling around)

That happens to me all the time, for no apparent reason. Things disappear and reappear, even without me doing anything.
