When yopu see them on pbucket there should be a little magnifying glass, in the corner (right hand) of the piccie. Click on it. The piccie now appears on it's own. Click on the magnifier again and it should become enormous!

Well we are here, all our stuff arrived today and MrN and I have spent all day opening boxes. My word we have some way to go still, but it's good to be here. We've had take away fish n chips and have now collapsed on the sofa unable to move. A very nice BT man arrived this morning to set up our internet and phone service and I'm now playing on my computer enjoying super fast broadband. I only have to think about doing something and I'm there- broadband with Jedi tricks! ;D Max has coped well and loves the new gardens up the road, and on our walk there last night we met a very nice lady with a beagle. We wandered around the woods with her. Who says folk are unfriendly in cities? I'm hoping to be settled enough o enjoy the fringe in a few days time.

Edinburgh fish and chips used to be good when I was a student - the pie and chips were to die for! Edinburgh never seems like a city to me - just feels such a comfortable place to be! I have been back a few times since I retired and still love it! I am just a tad envious Norty!

My only real memory of Edinburgh was The Rose Street Brewery, a pub from which you could look down into the attached brewery...

Last month I went to a gig at Hampden, in Glasgow, with some friends. After we parked the car we decided to have something to eat. Just up the road from the stadium was a 'Fush n Chup' shop, we all trooped in and it was doing a fearsome trade with other gig goers. One of my friends who is also English asked for "sausage, chips and gravy please" and the bloke behind the counter looked blank had no clue what she'd asked for. "Wha?" says he so she repeated her order, still no joy till my other friends husband from Aberdeenshire translates for him with " a sausage supper and gravy" in a strong Aberdeen accent. The chup shop man had a light bulb moment and muttered something unintelligible back to my English friend who stood there clueless until she was told that he said £3.40!! My English friend waited with baited breath for my turn and looked baffled when I asked for a "poke a' chups " . ;D

Are you enjoying the Festival, Norty? Any pics of the flat furnished? I haven't yet got to any Fringe things as I've been too busy here building futons (that I thought were to be delivered whole) trying to get a place for things. We have emptied all the boxes but the contents don't have permanent homes yet. I am determined to get to the Fringe to soak up the atmosphere from tomorrow onwards. I haven't felt able to leave Max on his own yet in the flat, however since the rugs have gone down and his bed is now in a more permanent place he is quite chilled. He's no longer bothered by the nightly fireworks that go off from the Tattoo. Pics soon when I've unearthed the camera. ;D
