We saw the "cream of england" packing the beaches on the south coast yesterday They'll be more like cream of tomato soup today!! I understand that the council and police cannot close the beach, but in a an emergency they can close roads and should have done so once they felt the situation was becoming too much. In Scotland where they have had a 5 mile limit with police strategically placed on the outskirts of beauty sports, popular places and beaches checking where people are going. Surely these councils are able to estimate how many people the beach, car parks, facilities can accommodate and if at 10.30a.m. they felt it was dangerously over crowded they should have blocked the roads (apart from locals) and stopped anyone else coming into the place.

I think that's part of the problem, it's not a secluded spot. If he had been down an alley he might have got away with it. However, this commemoration is in full view of all passers by, attached to open railings that face the windows of the HoP, just next to the bridge. It is what you would call an incredibly public spot.

They are like the football commentator of the 60s, "They think t's all over" Sadly many are going to find out it is not. The only thing that has changed with the numbers going down is the ability of the NHS to cope.

I often (well sometimes) remember something I was told that anywhere inside the city of London it was legal for a cab driver to pee against the rear offside wheel of his cab. All to do with the fact they sometimes had to wait outside various places for hours while their fares were wining dining or fornicating. Apparently a law that was never repealed. Probably fake noos, but sometimes good for a bit of lively conversation in the pub (what the hell does a pub look like!). However, this chap I don't think was a cabbie.

Well, I was told that when I drove a cab.. But Not a London Area Licence. .... Must be rear nearside - Not that I ever tried it of course. What was happening in the back was worry enough......

The version I got was that you could do it with any car

It's next to the HOP just before the bridge where the guy was killed. Main thoroughfare, open railings, in front of HoP offices.
