If you put all the people in prison that piss in the street after chucking out time in some of our towns and cities I think we might need to build a few more prisons.

Fines? Have I missed something? There were over 100 arrests so presumably there will be sentences

I don't think that more prisons is the answer Maybe more effective sentencing such as appropriate fines

More public toilets; for a start, reopen those that have been closed due to austerity. We'll be having blokes walking about carrying buckets hidden by big black cloaks next, 50p a go (a real thing in Victorian England).

You mean like more litter bins stops people littering? I have a bus top a few yards from my front door, and a littler bin no more than 10' from it. That does not stop the beer cans bottles and other crap being chucked over my low front wall onto my lawn. Live in the real world Aubs, anti-social people will always be anti social.

I agree JJ. one cannot teach them that wont understand.. Have you seen all those bods Sitting in bus places where "Lockdown" shows not to sit there, or the Bods who travel without Masks on busses???
No, they won't learn so instead of jail .... well Execution dock stands idle.. as does the Fourth rail in the London Underground awaiting an overfilled boozer needing something to aim for..

Our drive is parallel to the road and we are on the walk to school route. Regularly we had all sorts of wrappers and packets thrown over the wall However we had the drive tarmacked to tidy the approach up and all litter stopped

I agree with Aubrey , you can take litter home but if you are bursting for a pee , not soeasy. There should be more places to relieve yourself.

You are reminding me of my working days ("working" is a bit of an exaceration as I was doing a Local Gov Job), The locals were peeved at the Council tax so they were sending inoffensive people to check the opening hours (and hence the time subjected to vandal damage insurance costs and/or, cleaners, lock-up, unlock inspectors),with clipboard, number counting form, stop watch etc. in shifts over 24 hours x seven days...
One of the shier Lady "counters" sat in her locked car... Sundry Traffic warden/policies took an interest....

No doubt all of them will get 14 days in prison...…. I'm thinking more and more that prison is a waste of time for "minor" offences. I would propose big fines instead - hit them in their pockets where it hurts

It was the fact that it was an open railing and he got his penis out in broad daylight that got him the sentence, that and the fact that he couldn't pay a fine.
A better punishment would be as part of the Sunday morning cleaning team in some town centre somewhere

A better punishment would be as part of the Sunday morning cleaning team in some town centre somewhere I agree, and when one compares what he did with the deliberate desecration others have carried out the sentence was way out of line. I actually don't think he deliberately chose that memorial to pee against - he just chose the nearest relatively secluded spot rather than pissing against a lamppost in full view of everyone.
