A neighbour turned up at the door yesterday , she had our Siamese cat (aged 5) in a basket. She had found him in distress. I took him to our vet, an hour away, he had a look in Oberon's mouth and declared he had a very large tumour in his throat. I asked if it was operable and he shook his head.
He did a further check and after 15 mins. returned with the news, it's an abscess. After 6 different injections he sent me home with a limp Siamese and two lots of pills to be administered daily for 10 days.
I laid his limp shape on a chair in our conservatory ( so he couldn't escape) On the way home I bought some cat lit and set him up with a tray and a bowl of water before going off to bed exhausted. This morning I was awoken by his strident voice demanding food . I went in ,gave him his pills and a tray of cat food before clearing a poo from his cat-lit. Oberon has not used a tray since he was a kitten.
I'm hoping he's on the mend.

Nothing worse than a pet health scare Glad to hear it was not a tumour but just an abscess, in a couple of days (if that) he or she will be bounding about as usual

Arena, how is poorly Oberon today? I hope he is so much better.
I still cry for my wonderful feline friend who left me a few years ago. He was my darling partner for many years. I have kept a few of his favourite play-things which I look at from time to time.
