You have my sympathy Althea. A cold can be quite wearing , when you're knocking on. Hi Arena, I see there's a crime series called Ludwig, it's written by a crossword compiler, it's on the beeb iPlayer. Or bee TV. Yes, my sons have been watching ludwig have been taking the mickey. Who's got a beard and glasses, is a who-dunnit fan and compiled crosswords for a living. I saw one episode and thought it was rather good. |

Yes, us oldies can struggle with coughs and colds. I don't mind the cold so much, it's the racking cough that wears me out.
Luckily, I think I'm over the worst of it now (fingers firmly crossed.) I've had a shower and washed my hair, so I feel a lot fresher anyway.
I am a fan of David Mitchell and I watched Ludwig with utter delight. It has been on regular BBC, but I binged it on the BBC Player.
I will leave it a little while and watch it again.
I hope there is another series. It is funny and clever and that's a combination I adore.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better, Althea. Our house guest last week developed a terrible cough while she was here, but seemed to shake it off after a couple of days. She's only a youngster, though. She was keen to watch the bits of "Ludwig" that she'd missed, as she can't get iPlayer in France, so we binge-watched it all over 3 days. It was enjoyable, but didn't quite live up to the rave reviews, imo. There is sure to be a second series, as there were several loose ends left dangling.

I was on the cusp of commenting, about 10 hours ago, that it was another dull, dismal day when, hey presto, the sun put in an overdue appearance. It was actually quite a pleasant afternoon, although Mrs Tickle and I missed a fair chunk of it because we went swimming. This was followed, as usual, by 10 or 15 minutes in the steam room, coffee at the café and a wander round Asda. We ended up with a fair amount of shopping so it's just as well the walk home is downhill. After an early dinner we went along to our luxurious local cinema, so it has been a busy day of living it up.  On Sunday it was dull and dismal all day, but when I was scrolling down my Facebook feed, I came across an ad for Sunday lunch at The Fisherman's Cottage, and this reminded me that "The Newtowners" (or some of them) have an Americana session there on the first Sunday of the month, so thither I went to do a bit of foot tapping. It's quite a trek to get there and Mrs Tickle decided to stay home, but it was good fun - and I got back just in time for a long Instagram chat with Grace-3, which cheered me up even more.

Morning all: A tad cooler this morning but a dry day is forecast. My grandaughter gets married today at 11.30am. If I get chance I will post a photo on here of their special day.

Lovely Ron: Tuesday...people get married on all days of the week now - even Sunday.
Glad you are better Althea. And Waiting's guest...my son had COVID a couple of weeks back. The cough is a nightmare - there's a lot of it about just now...

Went to Plumpton Races yesterday: fabulous day, fabulous horses and a great course. It was really busy, which I did not expect - the car park was completely full! Good day and I came out 43 quid to the good 😊 I used the same bookie who chuckled and asked me what my system was..as if I had one!

I was on the bus the other day, in a seat slightly higher, being further back..
There was a woman in front of me (mid 40s?) and I could see she was looking intently at her phone the whole journey.
There were photos of three Rottweilers.. individually, then together variously, which she returned to over and over, then she watched a video of these three dogs repeatedly and then watched it again, in s l o w motion.
I don't know about you, but I thought this was really weird.

Maybe that lady had a camera installed in her home and was checking on her dogs' behaviour.
I am definitely improving a bit each day. I rang the surgery, in case I needed to cancel my appointment on Saturday, for the flu' and covid jabs.
I was told, if I don't have a temperature I will be fine. So I am going to turn up and will be annoyed if they refuse to do the jabs.
I will be much better by then.
