I've always thought that however deeply they are plunged into dementia, they are still in there somewhere. I gaze into their eyes and say the kindest words I can think of. I'm sure he heard you and was able to go freely. Releasing someone is hard, but when you love them it's the last thing you can do for them.

Althea: I agree with Rwth, Hildie and Ron. I clearly recall how much Colin suffered - and you along with him. Such a good man...you were blessed to have him. But yes, he would definitely have been able to hear you and those words you spoke would've been comforting which is why I am sure he let go.

My favourite cheese is definitely Wensleydale, nice and tasty and crumbly. With a nice bit of fruit cake 😋

The sun is shining...............!!!!
In relation to cheese, I'll try any cheese at least three times before making my mind up!! I do like a blue cheese. Blue Shropshire & Roast Parsnip tart - now you're talking.

My husband got his driving licence in 1949. He started the test (he was 17) and the examiner asked him if he'd been driving before. My Husband explained he had driven all sorts of vehicles on the farm. The examiner told him to drive back to the centre, as he had passed. I went for a blood test this morning in heavy rain and it was freezing cold. The rain has stopped, but it's still cold. I got an Echo pop yesterday. It's a new, cheap form of Alexa. I have to say it's a boon for reminders. It was much easier to set up than I had thought it would be. I am sure everyone's experience of dementia is different.

We have three Alexa devices plus a kindle each. I sort of feel ashamed of that really as it just shows the extent to which I am enslaved to Amazon. However, I like the radio stations you can get on it, especially Caroline Flashback... I am debating whether to get Netflix - only because I am dying to watch Ripley.

Morning all: Another frosty morning, I hope this frost doesn't do too much damage to my plants outside.

I'm glad my daughter pays for Disney+ for her brother. It means I can watch Shardlake and Shogun. I need to check Paramount, because I think I get it free with my Sky package, but it seems to be asking me a password I can't remember!!!!!!!! I was going to watch the film about the man imprisoned in a hotel in Moscow for 30 years. Is it called Gentleman in Moscow.

If this is by Clavell, I read his series starting with King rat and Nobel House thirty years ago.

Ah, Radio Caroline, it’s where I first fell in love with Jonny Walker (DJ not the whisky, although………)

I started watching Ripley, but having seen the Jude Law version, I didn't like it. In my opinion, it's not as good as the original one. I am a fan of Amazon, they have served me very well for many years. I often find myself having to defend Amazon from outrageous claims by people who have never used it. I don't want to tempt fate, but I have never had a problem with Amazon. I think I was worried that Alexa would be the thin end of the wedge, as regards AI taking over my life. It seems so silly now.
