Very dark and grey this morning, need a jumper on!
Most city centre pubs and bars in Sunderland are not opening this weekend, some have made a point of saying they will open in July or August but won't announce the date. Other pubs are open for booked tables and if you want food with your drink, those with large beer gardens are advertising but some are still saying you have to book a table in advance. Hopefully it is not carnage in the ones that are opening. I shall refrain but am considering a nice café at the marina that has tables outside for breakfast on Sunday!

I live in Cornwall and am dreading the start of the holiday season now that foreign travel is not recommended. We don't live in a holiday "hotspot" but the recent Bank Holliday weekends resulted in queues round the block at the supermarkets

I live in Cornwall and am dreading the start of the holiday season now that foreign travel is not recommended. We don't live in a holiday "hotspot" but the recent Bank Holliday weekends resulted in queues round the block at the supermarkets I lived in Stithians way back. Was the reservoir then, and the annual Stithians show held - now the biggest one day show in the country I think. Held in July and hardly ever wet it gets so hot down there

I would like to let everyone know, that though things have not been finally settled, those who must be obeyed are all of the opinion that OH needs to stay in permanent care.
At the beginning I thought this a negative move, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see how well he's looked after and he's mostly content.
So ,now I consider the whole thing a positive move and feel as though everything is working out for the best.
OH is 88 today. I am going to the home today, with cards and presents and cakes. I will have to stand outside in the rain,
but I want to see him on his birthday. I hope he recognises me today.

The rain stopped before we got there and resumed after we left, so that was a blessing. OH finds it difficult to relate to me now. He doesn't show signs of being glad to see me and is soon telling me I should go and get out of the wind. (It was extremely windy.) I hung on as long as I could. He told me he had put on weight last week, but he hasn't. He looked haggard as he is still not sleeping. The fact that he has assimilated into the home so well is good for him and the best I could hope for, but it's so difficult for me.

Do you still have to stand outside the window. That can't be helping yet the very fact that he recognised you were in the bad weather means he does care. So hang on to that. Also remember you probably haven't had long detailed and complex conversations for some time. We often don't in the everyday course of life with the people we live with because we already know their opinions on things and don't want to have a row every day 😂😊😊

Morning all: I wonder if many will venture into the pubs in England today. Nothing open here in Wales. Doesn't look like a nice day ahead. Another sleepless night, up and down like a yoyo.
