Another anecdote about her concerns her so called nephew in the soap who was later revealed to be her illegitimate son The character was played by Bill Kenwright who went on to become a theatre impressario and owner of Everton football club

Just Googlied them both.. I wonder how many Other "Workers Playtime" that I have forgotten.... I think that most of the entertainers who were in ENSA, Entertainments Service Associagtion, that entertained the troops and us on the radio during WW2 went on to appear on Workers Playtime Remember this from Music While You Work

Anybody heard anything from althea, we haven't seen her for a while. Last time she had all sorts of problems Lefs hope she is well and send her a cyber group hug Thanks Jimmy and all you folks who miss me. Sadly, life is extremely difficult at the moment and I don't get much time online. OH takes all my time and energy these days Losing my grandson in an accident before Christmas knocked all the stuffing out of me and now, caring for OH is getting beyond my capabilities. I don't want to post too much about it as it is depressing and everyone has their own problems to cope with. However,I reached crisis point yesterday and one daughter took me to stay at her house overnight, while another daughter came and stayed with OH. It has helped a little, but it's crunch time and I have applied to soc. services for respite for him.I don't want to send him away, but I simply can't go on like this. So,I'll see what tomorrow brings now.

Sorry to hear that and hope life gets better for you soon. Morning all: No Boris didn't reopen anything as was expected. Still in Lockdown. Much cooler today as forecast but they did say by next weekend it should warm up again.

Was odd wasn't it, for days we were told that all sorts would be relaxed but nothing has changed other than go back to work if you can

Yes Jimmy, I did think he was going to open certain outlets but nothing was mentioned. Unless he does it today in Parliament.

Boris used a lot of words, but said nothing.. But I think I'd do the same if I had been as ill as He did, Whilst being In-charge.
Gotta go . My pooter seems equally reluctant to respond.

It's being alert, and socially distancing itself !

Pooter is not Being Alert ... it is being confused...
Nothing to do with this thread, but someone is falsifying their identity to seem to be asking for my address and Bank details --- so my computer is sulking because I'm not giving it attention - BUT I will report to Neighbourhood watch.
Repeat - nothing to do with this thread .. but yes, stay alert.

Scammers are everywhere, just ignore everything you don't recognise I got caught, a message from BT appeared on my birthday to say that I had won an iPad that I was considering buying at that time and I needed to give my card details to pay for the delivery Sadly I fell for it and they charged £39 to my card. Realising what had happened I contacted Barclaycard and they eventually stopped and refunded the payment. That in itself was tiresome, Barclaycard are running on fewer staff and no Indian call centre and getting them to act took forever - one time hanging on the phone for 40 minutes, causing great worry that these thieves could help themselves to my card

Thanks.. I had a problem twice before ... However .. My inability to notice a problem, was partly an inadvertant error to not notice that a few bob was being extracted (an advice request on a Legal matter became a regular extraction) Only small amounts, but it involved me sitting for an hour or so to the The Bank's Customer services - Their phone (so no cost to me) as they retracted each amount one by one. The complication was that my Local Council had changed my address, and I was not getting statements... If anyone interested in How it works... The Bod on the phone seems to have another phone connecting to the recipient bank to refer to each transfer.. at the end she told me that It would not take place until the next day, but the next day would show refunds from an account they gave me in the overnight transfers. It was....
The other matter was not money (well, not mine) Someone had snaffled my Facebook name, falsified an account to sell something - not that I understood how - offering something get-rich-quick scam. Don't know how (and prefer not to know).
So how many posts are scammed .. or ... how many posts before a scammer picks on one ... and of every (say) 100 scams, how many poor sods. succomb. (for what its worth, I've told Neighbourhood Watch)
