Tomorrow we are going to dinner at my son's house. It's my Mothers' Day treat. Yesterday I had Mothers' day with my oldest daughter who took me out to dine and bought me some lovely shoes. Last Sunday I had Mothers Day with my youngest daughter,as she is away this weekend. I love Mothers'Day (yes,I know it's really Mothering Sunday) having a family is great. You get lots of treats and presents. And yes,I am very shallow.

We are all allowed to be shallow at times - two lots of flowers delivered yesterday and two phonecalls this morning! Yes, I can be shallow too! I'm just happy that they are happy - that makes me smile.

I've just read that Sr Ken Dodd has died, aged 90. Bless him,he was the funniest comedian I've ever seen. Thanks for all the laughs ,Doddy. RIP.

Ah,I now see Arena has already announced Doddy's demise in the obits thread. Which ,of course,is where it should be. I was so pleased to read your tribute to Sir Ken Dodd,Arena. I saw him so many times in various clubs and theatres, and I always laughed until my sides and my face ached. I even fell out of my seat once,in Blackpool,I was laughing so hard. That was in 1966.

My Dad used to compere shows in a big British legion club. Because we lived just across the road he brought the artiste's home for supper. I was only young at the time but remember meeting Bert Weedon, Craig Douglas, Marty Wilde and of course Ken Dodd. Dad would get me out of bed just to get their autographs.
Ken Dodd was booked for a one hour spot but as per usual he kept the audience in stitches for well over two hours.

It is a lovely bright cold day here.Unfortunately, the weather man (Derek) has told us the beast from the east will be back next weekend. Has anyone seen my sledge?

I just can't believe how quickly we have gone from last weekend to this one coming up. The weeks are racing by. I hope the beast from the east does not appear tomorrow for all our sakes.

Oh,I get so broody, looking at puppies. I know it would be unfair to get one now and I would struggle to look after it,but I would still love to have a little companion again.

Oh bugger - I went to bed two hours later than my normal time. That accounts for it.
