I wish there was a button on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There is a brightness button, but it doesn't work.

I was about to agree with you Ron...until I realised that Strictly starts in a few weeks 😄 Used to enjoy a weekly debriefing on the show with Lana - sadly not seen on here for some months... I take it you won't be replacing her then?

I've only ever watched the odd minutes or two when I've been out in my club. It is popular no doubt as many are glued to it. Bryan I saw Lady in a van several months ago and Maggie Smith was quite brilliant as always.

Watched The Woman In The Van last evening Amazing fil and performance by Maggie Smith Lied it so much we bought the dvd in Tesco this morning on a "2 for £7 special offer I read this years ago. For me, it's Bennett's writing which brings the pleasure, so this film adaptation grated a bit. Nobody should impersonate him! In fact, I have avoided it, but watched last night. Maggie Smith was far more likeable than Miss Shepherd! I have all his books, scripts, and, going way back - cassettes as well! On the go since Christmas, 'Keeping on Keeping On', is by my bedside and I read several chapters of it between novels. Alan Bennett is my hero (well, one of 'em) and has been, long before he became a national treasure 😁
