"A man who died after he was shot by police with a Taser gun has been named locally as ex-Aston Villa footballer Dalian Atkinson.
Officers were called to a home in Meadow Close, Telford, Shrophire in the early hours of this morning amid concerns "for the safety of an individual".
West Mercia Police said the 48-year-old man was given medical treatment after being hit by a stun gun but died around 90 minutes later."

We know what happens in the USA now if a black man is killed by the police, are we going to see the same reaction here

Nonsense Gus. We don't know why he was tasered, but I doubt it was just for target practice. One can only wait and see, but I think it is quite likely there was some sort of domestic and he was not going anywhere quietly.

Ernest Atkinson, 85, reportedly said that his son was agitated, while neighbour Paula Quinn said the ex-footballer appeared to be “almost staggering” in the street before he was Tasered.
“He was in a real state, said Mr Atkinson. “I don’t know if he was drunk or on drugs but he was very agitated and his mind was upset.

I don't think that the black protesters in the USA know why another black man has been killed, but they still protest The "Black Lives Matter" protest group have already started protesting here

And what has that got to do with this case? Black lives matter protest groups here are in my view just another protest group. They would hang their hats on anything. I don't know why he chap was tasered and I am sorry he died. But to link it to the fact he was black is not on.

He was threatening to kill his father. I would guess that makes him pretty dangerous...

Colour is not an issue. Mental health (probably) is.

Colour is not an issue. Mental health (probably) is. Sectioned if perceived to be a threat to yourself or others

Tbh, in response to events such as this, colour has no relevance whatever. The longer we allow people to make it an issue, it'll be one.
